Animated to Live Action...Good or Bad?

Hey, I remembering seeing something in some other thread about how Disney is planning to or have already begun production on a live action version of Snow White. I for one think that this is a creative idea. It worked for 101 Dalmations, so perhaps it can work for a timeless classic like SW. I hope that they will make it a musical like the cartoon, with added dialogue or something to make the movie up to live action movie running time.

I would also like to see some other classic Disney animated movies come to live action. Some would need to stay animated, such as The Little Mermaid, but I think that movies like Aladdin could really be big hits. Musicals are getting really popular now, what with Chicago, Moulin Rouge, Rent, and the upcoming Hairspray, so I can't really see Disney losing on this.

So what do you guys think? Yay or nay on the idea? If yay, give some movie suggestions...and if nay state why!

Hmm...That's a tough one. I think that sometimes in the transition from animation to live action, you lose something. I can't quite put my finger on it though. Like sometimes they make changes that make the movie more exciting, and sometimes the changes make you want to cringe.

It might be interesting to see a few live action movies, but I wouldn't want them to go overboard with trying to recreate classic Disney movies with real people.

Well 101 Dalmatians was done right w/ Glenn Close & I believe it was Jeff Daniels. Plus it had real dogs. If they do Snow White in a similar manner, then it work too. If they make something similar to stage musical w/ actors no one will recognize & a production that looks as cheap as its budget, it will fail miserably. The story works, the proof will be in the effort & quality put out.
