Night Photography

Night photography is a challenge for any photographer. Too much light, but enough light, blur - just some of the many things that can go wrong.

So, share with us your best shots.

If you have a question, ask it here and I will answer.

Any Disney Park is valid for these contests as long as it fits the theme.

Rules:

1. The photo can be from current or past
2. Photo's must be yours (you were the person behind the lens, framing the shot, pushing the shutter, etc), do not use other people's work or copyrighted photos. This means that if you are in the photo, then most likely it cannot be used in a contest unless you used a self timer.
3. You may only enter 1 photo into the contest
4. Picture MUST be in the Gallery. Please link a thumbnail or full size image to this thread.
5. Contest will run for 14 days with a 1 week voting period.
6. The spirit of these contests is native photography. Since most of us are not professionals we have allowed minimal usage of photoshop to crop, light balance, etc - the absolute basics.

Contest begins now and submissions will be accepted for 2 weeks.

ALL PHOTOS MUST BE UPLOADED TO THE CONTEST GALLERY - NO EXCEPTIONS. Our voting will require the pictures to be in the Gallery. You should link a thumbnail or larger to this thread so we can see the picture.

The Gallery has a category called PHOTO CONTESTS. Within that category there is a sub category called PHOTO CONTEST #26. Here is a link to the gallery itself - just look for the current contest directory. Good Luck!

I also want to add somthing to remember:

THIS IS ALL FOR FUN

Don't vote down others just to make your score higher
Don't rank your picture too high just because it is your picture

Have Fun - Be Honest - Be Fair

There are no prizes involved. Just people with 2 common interests; Disney and photography.

And if you like a picture - comment why; everyone likes a pat on the back

And if you do not like a picture - share your concerns and help them to be better

All - this is my fault; let me say this first. There used to be a line in the contest rules about what is allowed in the photo contest regarding the usage of Photoshop (or like programs)

The spirit of these contests is native photography. Since most of us are not professionals we have allowed minimal usage of photoshop to crop, light balance, etc - the absolute basics.

I am going to leave up Brian's photo for a while because it is absolutely stunning. but since it is composed of 7 separate images I have asked him to submit a different photo for the contest.

I apologize that the rules of allowable manipulation disappeared from the rules - I will get them back in there.

Sorry everybody, I submitted the formentioned photo unaware of the minimal editing rule. Therefore I have retracted it from the contest and submitted this one of the teacups. Thanks and good luck to all.

Greetings All!

I was asked another question and I thought I would answer it for all to read. The question was can a person watermark their photo.

I understand some people would want to 'mark' their photo and so the answer is yes - as long as the watermark does not add to the photo. I would also suggest to make sure the watermark does not subtract from the photo too.

Wait! Is this a Night contest or a Low Light contest? Because I have a lot more pics from inside of low light rides instead of just outdoor night pics.
