I got this idea from Maleficient's Lover (thanks!) This one will be a bit easier then the last one, I think. Disney gardeners are some of the best in the world. So, let's show off their work. This contest is about LIVE flowers, plants, trees, etc.

If you have a question, ask it here and I will answer.

Any Disney Park is valid for these contests as long as it fits the theme.

Rules:

1. The photo can be from current or past
2. Photo's must be yours (you were the person behind the lens, framing the shot, pushing the shutter, etc), do not use other people's work or copyrighted photos. This means that if you are in the photo, then most likely it cannot be used in a contest unless you used a self timer.
3. You may only enter 1 photo into the contest
4. Picture MUST be in the Gallery. Please link a thumbnail or full size image to this thread.
5. Contest will run for 14 days with a 1 week voting period.

Contest begins now and submissions will be accepted for 2 weeks.

ALL PHOTOS MUST BE UPLOADED TO THE CONTEST GALLERY - NO EXCEPTIONS. Our voting will require the pictures to be in the Gallery. You should link a thumbnail or larger to this thread so we can see the picture.

The Gallery has a category called PHOTO CONTESTS. Within that category there is a sub category called PHOTO CONTEST #23. Here is a link to the gallery itself - just look for the current contest directory. Good Luck!

Man! I really don't have a lot ot choose from. I've never taken pictures of the flowers at Disneyland, so you get leaves instead.

What if I have flowers in the foreground......but a character or ride in the background. Would that work?

Hmm, how to answer that.

The contest is going to be judged on the floral content, not the background, but the background could add to the floral content. How is that for an answer!

OK, example might work here.

In the following image, the focus is clearly on this single red rose. Yes, the HM is in the background but it is the backdrop to the rose. The rose is the picture.




However, in the same area and at the same time. I also took a picture of the single red rose from a different angle. Yes, the rose is still there as are lots of bushes and a couple trees BUT the picture is most definitely about the Conservatory on the HM building.



So, do you see what my answer means now. What will draw the viewers eyes. In my first picture the first thing the eye focuses on is the rose. In the second picture the first thing that draws the viewer in is the building. That is how you can tell if your picture will make the grade.

This is one of the flowers I saw while waiting for BTMRR. I love how paper thin and delicate the petals look.
