Contest #22

Best Picture of any mountains

OK - time to get creative again. There are several mountains that are quite obvious; Space, Matterhorn, Splash, Thunder, Everest, Grizley. But how about something other then the obvious.

Voting will be based on overall picture quality and creative choosing of a the subject matter which is mountain based but not the obvious. Please note, you can enter the above mentioned mountains into the contest but I will give it a low score unless there is something there that is beyond the usual shot.

If you have a question, ask it here and I will answer.

Any Disney Park is valid for these contests as long as it fits the theme.

Rules:

1. The photo can be from current or past
2. Photo's must be yours (you were the person behind the lens, framing the shot, pushing the shutter, etc), do not use other people's work or copyrighted photos. This means that if you are in the photo, then most likely it cannot be used in a contest unless you used a self timer.
3. You may only enter 1 photo into the contest
4. Picture MUST be in the Gallery. Please link a thumbnail or full size image to this thread.
5. Contest will run for 14 days with a 1 week voting period.

Contest begins now and submissions will be accepted for 2 weeks.

ALL PHOTOS MUST BE UPLOADED TO THE CONTEST GALLERY - NO EXCEPTIONS. Our voting will require the pictures to be in the Gallery. You should link a thumbnail or larger to this thread so we can see the picture.

The Gallery has a category called PHOTO CONTESTS. Within that category there is a sub category called PHOTO CONTEST #22. Here is a link to the gallery itself - just look for the current contest directory. Good Luck!

As I read my description, let me clarify something. This contest is about the creative or unusual. Let me explain

Let us use the Matterhorn as the example. We have all seen photos from every side of the mountain, in both daylight and nighttime. We have seen the climbers, we have seen the pretty flowers, we have seen the cars in motion. Those are all obvious shots. Something along those lines will get a 1 or 2 from voting.

But, maybe you have something totally different about the Matterhorn that is creative, new, imaginative, etc.

Also, there are lots of mountains in the Parks other then the biggies: lots of mountains are featured on ride or in queue.

Dig deep, get creative, don't go for the easy.

I submitted this one because I think it was the time of day and the way the sun hit the mountain and maybe because I am short LOL I didnt want to go for easy like RU42 explained above, just looks like my most creative shot that I had. lol *you had to use the Matterhorn as an example now didn't you RU42* LOL

The leaves in front from the tree made it seem not in a park but a true mountain in the distance.

I chose this shot because you have the train coming down the hill, with another train going up the lift at the same time. Sadly, I got a glare. I didn't realize I got the two trains like that until we were back from the trip.

I got this shot during my trip in June. I think it is pretty cool. I just happened to look up one our way out of DCA and was fortunate to get it!

Rachele - very creative, I love it. That is a perfect example of an onride moutain - a mountain of gold - very creative indeed.

Cal Dreamin - that is EXACTLY what I mean. Awesome creativity while showing something we have all seen. THAT is what I envisioned for this contest.

I am not trying to put anyone down here - but spaceventure's picture of Space Mountain is a nice picture - but pretty standard picture of that mountain. In a normal contest I would probably give that shot a 4 - for this contest and the description of the contest - I will probably end up giving this shot a 1 because it is not cretive.

I only point this our to help everyone understand what I envisioned for this contest. If anyone submits/has submitted a picture and they want to change, please let me know which picture you want removed from the gallery. Best to do it by PM probably.

Also - do not forget - there are lots of mountains besides Splash, Thunder, MH, Space, Griz, Everest - etc.
