We Are Imagineering a New Game for You

Okay, let's get this thing underway once and for all. For five seasons, So You Want to be an Imagineer has been a great showcase of this board's talent and an exciting, competitive event. We've produced five great winners and plenty of all stars. In fact, before I get to season six, I'd like to take a second to anounce a new edition to my SYWTBAI Hall of Fame thread, the Imagineer All Stars. These are the people who helped shape the game and make an impression on their season. The All Stars are... (Sorted by their first season)

Season One
-Basketbuddy101 (4th Place S1, 2nd Place S2 and S3, 1st Place S4)
-Coastafreak (3rd Place S1, 5th Place S2, 7th Place S3, 8th Place S4, 2nd Place S5)
-Disneyfreak58 (1st Place S1)

Season Two
-Disneylover4ever (4th Place S2, 9th Place S4)
-Jagfkb (1st Place S2)

Season Three
-Romanarms (4th Place S3, 7th Place S4, 1st Place S5)
-MadAboutMickey (1st Place S3)

Season Four
-JPhelps (4th Place S4, 7th Place S5)

Season Five
-ManEatingWreath (3rd Place S5)

Now, let's get to the game already.

As some of you may know, about midway through season five, me and ManEatingWreath decided to team up to reinvent the game for season six. I have guided this game through five sucessful seasons, and MEW is the father of the Open Brainstorming thread. This team up should produce a game like never before.

The first thing I should say is that, no matter what, there will be 12 contestants total. (Maybe less if we don't get enough sign ups, but no more.) The second thing, probably the biggest twist to the format that me and MEW have come up with, is that the game will be played in two teams of six. Each round, I will post a project, as well as individual asignments for individual people within the team to complete, making for an overall team project. (For example, if a project is to design a show, there would be a writer, a concept design, a story person, etc.) Me and MEW will judge the two projects as a whole and decide which one is better. Out of the loosing project, the element (story, art, writing, etc.) we felt was the weakest is eleminated. There will be a merge at some point, but I won't spoil the suprises of that.

Now, here is the real twist. The two teams will consist of five players new to the game, and one team leader. These team leaders are two of the biggest All Stars the game has ever seen. I will be getting in contact with both of them via PM today, but their identities will not be revealed until the start date.

As for other returning contestants. If people who did participate in seasons one through five do want to participate, they can sign up for back ups in case we don't get enough new people. I really want as much fresh blood as possible since this is supossed to be a reinvention of the game. If 10 new people don't sign up, however, I will consider others. This is a casting process, so me and MEW will be deciding based on who we think will be the best fit for the season. All Stars will have priority, then anyone else. Anyone IS welcome to sign up. If you are an All Star and wish to compete, chances are you'll be asked to be a team leader in a future season. (That is, if this twist is pulled off sucessfully). PMs will be going out to the two team leaders sometime this morning. If you did not recieve a PM, and are an All Star who wants to compete, you can still sign up as a back up, but keep in mind that there were several contenders for the two Team Leader posistions that sadly would up on the cutting room floor. As for judges, for this season I think I'm going to keep it to just me and MEW, but I might consider guest judges for certain projects, so stay posted.

Now, dates. Sign ups will start sometime in November. The offical launch date for Season Five, where I will anounce the teams and project leaders, is...Friday, December 11th.

I really can't wait for this season, it's going to be awesome! I hope to see you all there and ready for the next great season of So You Want to be an Imagineer.

I encourage you all to sign up for this season, because trust me you won't regret it. I have seen what lies ahead for you all and you won't be disappointed. I won't say anything more about the new twists on the game but do trust me, this will be one of the best seasons yet.

If you are a veteran of the game, sign up! Let the nostalgic flow. Renew your memories with a whole new game. If you've never participated before then sign up. This will be kind of like an Open Brainstorming thread, only you can get eliminated. But that doesn't matter, what really matters is having fun and excercising your skills in the world of Imagineering and creativity. If you are a guest to this website who wants to join. Sign up and become a member, then join the contest! We're looking for some fresh blood this season so step right up and don't be shy!

Thanks for all the interest guys. Sign ups will ofically start sometime in early November. I'm thinking you guys will have a month to complete the first "project" which will determine the casting process if we get more than 10 signed up.

Thanks for the interest, you can probably sign up for season seven, which as of now, is roughly scheduled to take place this coming summer.
