Then there was three...
I think a trackless dark ride would work good with an Indiana Jones ride. Maybe a Polynesian island theme? You can have tikis and stuff like that?

I was actually thinking that an ancient tiki god would be an interesting idea for another Indiana Jones Adventure so maybe we can work that into this attraction. We may have to research tiki gods though because I want this attraction to be fun & thrilling but also accurate with the Hawaiian tiki legends.

Maybe it can be in an ancient temple deep within a Hawaiian volcano? The tiki can like belch lava and everything. Maybe the undead skeletons of former tribal warriors can live there? An indoor tidal wave? The possibilities are endless...
Speaking of which I've come up with a treasure for the temple. Forgive me if I'm going way too far ahead, it's just this idea has suddenly popped into my head. An ancient Hawaiian island long since to have been forgotten by human history has suddenly been unearthed by an erupting volcano. The ancient and prehistoric island said to only exist in the time of the ancient Egyptians was destroyed in a devastating earthquake and quickly plunged beneath the surface of the Pacific Ocean...until 1930 that is... October 31, 1930. Residents to the other Hawaiian islands awoke with a start around five thirty in the morning to a tremendous shaking that shook the ocean and cracked buildings. Many fled in panic while others ran for shelter in fear of an earthquake or volcanic eruption. Turns out it was an eruption, but no eruption on any of the current islands but one of the past islands, (Insert Island Name Here). The ancient island long since considered to be a myth by the elders of the islands had finally risen from the dead, its primeval volcano continuing to hiss and steam. Expedition teams set out to go and observe the island but none came back or were heard from again. This sense of danger immediately attracted bands of tourists and soon enough (Insert Island Name Here) became one of Hawaii's most popular vacation and tourist destinations. Only one person disagreed with this. And that person was Indiana Jones. Dr. Jones had studied the lost island for years in college, often hoping for the day when he would get the chance to explore its mysteries and take in its wonders. Unfortunately Indy was busy at the time of the island's re-surfacing and by the time he arrived it was already too late. Too many people had already made the island their second home. But did this stop Henry Jones Jr.? No. Nothing would stop him. He had studied the island too long and too hard to pass up an oppurtunity like this. So he called upon his good friend Sallah, traveled to the top of the island's volcano and found the entrance to an ancient temple, a temple which no one, not even he knew about. The temple belonged to an ancient tiki spirit whom was charged with the creation of the Hawaiian islands by the natives of the region. Legend has it that the spirit was angered when explorers from a distant country tried to invade his island and he immediately embarked in war with them, taking his island beneath the sea and drowning all the explorers with him. The remainder of the islands wished to be secluded from their creator so in his last angry act towards them, he bore them each an active volcano, all in which would cause misery and despair for all of their island's natives. The tiki plunged beneath the sea but lived on, sealing himself in his own tomb; a temple built by the most loyal and powerful of his servants, and guarded by the deadliest and most difficult of booby traps and creatures. The elders of the islands pass down a myth from generation to generation that tells of the reason why the foreign explorers came to visit the island. They believe that the tiki spirit held a great and powerful treasure that anyone with a greedy heart could want. The Sea of Knowledge, a wonderful source of magic that could show you anything in the world that you want. If not the universe. It can show the past, the present, the future, anything you desire, a person you want, what you are feeling at the moment, an answer to a riddle, a joke, a question, someone you want to see, something you miss, etc. But there was a danger to this treasure. Things don't always appear as they do in the sea as they are in real life. Myth has it that a greedy soul found himself gazing into the eyes of his beautiful wife whom wore a tiger and leopard-skin dress-like outfit. When he met his wife later in life she turned out to be a tiger and leopard hybrid whom almost immediately devoured him. The poor sap's soul was claimed by the tiki spirit and added to his horrid collection of spirits that stir within the temple in an endless limbo. The greedy man's picture can now be seen carved into a wall as he is devoured by the big cat, alongside the thousands of other people who fell victim to the Sea of Knowledge. Likewise their souls haunt the temple to this day, just dying and begging to get out. As I was saying Indy and Sallah reopened the temple and haven't come out yet. Pretty soon people began to worry and, the next thing you knew, archaeologists and tourists alike have been sent in on troop transport vehicles to rescue the lost archaeological hero and his missing companion. The only question is, will you survive? How does that sound? The Sea of Knowledge... Sorry I just had to do that... :)

That's not half bad actually but I think we'll wait a little before we start with the story, I wanna see if more people wanna join & then we'll start discussing attraction ideas. But we'll always have your ideas to glance over when we're creating.

All righty then, I guess we've given people enough time to join in so Disneyland DHI will be the final member. Now to start off, we will begin with the overall story of the attraction & then we'll move on from there. Now, I'm sure we all can agree than MEW's Indy story with Hawaiian tiki gods is unique & I think it'll be cool to theme it around that but there's one thing I'm worried about. I'm not so sure about the idea of having tourists visiting the island as I think it sounds to similar to Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland & I was hoping this attraction would stand alone & progress away from Indiana Jones Adventure & not borrow anything from it. You guys remember how Indiana Jones Adventure was a progression from the Epic Stunt Spectacular, well that's what I hope will happen with this. I also think having Sallah in Hawaii is a bit weird since Sallah usually only assisted Indy in his Middle East expeditions so maybe we can create a new sidekick for Dr. Jones. That's just what I think but feel free to talk it over.
P.S. We should also come up with a name but maybe we'll work on that later. |
