Lightbulb So, you want to be an Imagineer? Competition Project Two

Hello and welcome to the second project of the ?So, you want to be an Imagineer?? Competition. Yes, it is being posted a few days after what was originally stated. There were a few difficulties that stopped it from being posted on time. Anyways, here it is?and we hope it was worth the wait!

Your mission for project two:
You have now been assigned the task of developing and creating a brand new C/D ticket attraction for a non-Disneyland style theme park. The theme parks of choice are: Disney?s Animal Kingdom, Disney?s California Adventure, Disney-MGM Studios, Epcot, Tokyo Disney Sea or Walt Disney Studios. The attraction must be placed in a current land, not a new land that you created. The attraction can be, but does not have to be, based on a past, present or future movie or an animation feature.

*One of the requirements though is that it MUST have two separate versions of operation. One style during the day (normal version) and one during the night hours (different version). If needing example, think along the lines of Space Mountain and Rockin? Space Mountain. Make sure that both versions include an equal attention to detail and theming. You must also explain the transfer (switch) between the day version and the night version. Please explain the Night Hours version with details and its reason for being.

*The second requirement is that it must have a post-show area. This area can range from games to displays. Just make sure it follows the same theming present with the attraction before it. Other than that?go crazy!

*Oh yes! Did we mention? The attraction must have a whimsical dedication to match its theming/storyline.

Grading Arrangements:

Location: 10/100
Theming: 20/100
Creativity: 20/100
Night Hours Operational Version: 20/100
Post Show Area: 15/100
Whimsical Dedication: 5/100
Detail in Presentation: 10/100

Total:100/100

DUE DATE: Friday, July 6th 2007 by 11:59pm

If the project is turned in late by?
1 Day?? -5 points
2 Days?.. -10 points
3 Days?.. -15 points
4 Days?.. -100 points

Remember?this is an elimination round.

Good luck, have fun, and put on your creative cap as we ask you that daring question?

?So, you want to be an Imagineer??

What about all those points? Do they roll over or do we lose them forever?
-Good question! The points from Project One will be thrown out, forget about them. We are starting out fresh. I actually consider the second project to be the start of the competition. Now, the points you earn from this project though will be kept and then added to the amount of points you earn from the third project. That is where we stop for now. When we get to that point, we will discuss it. So yes, sometimes points will be kept through a few rounds?adding them all together.

If you have any questions...feel free to ask :)

Hmm...finally, a hard one.

But one thing, what does a "whimsical dedication" mean?

^^A short dedication speech for the attraction (a few sentences long) using classic Disney humor...to make it sound fun and possibly funny.

Like the dark rides in Fantasyland and other different attractions including Dumbo, Astro Orbiter or Astro Orbitor, Mark Twain, canal boats, the railroad.

C ticket/ D Ticket basically, some of the better rides, but not like Indy, Which is an E ticket I believe.

Can a river rapids ride be considered a D ticket, or just E? Because I'm considering a river rapids ride for Epcot (to go into WS).

But if it's too high for a D ticket, then I'll try for a new version of Journey Into Imagination.

I would probably say that a raft ride would be an E ticket.

For Everybody: The goal is to create a brand new C/D ticket attraction. It would be nice if it was an original, new attraction with a new storyline. If you are planning on bringing an attraction back from yesterland, please make sure it has a new name, new theming, and a new storyline with a new concept.
This is not a refurb project, sorry.

Well, to be honest, it is partially a refurb job, but just wait till you see the end result. This new version of Journey Into Imagination will probably put all existing versions to shame (including the original version!). And yes, it will feature new theming and a new storyline and a new concept.

Thats fine, as long as its more of a new attraction than it is a refurb.

Yeah, it will be a new attraction. It's time the present version of Journey got the old heave-ho anyway.

I am assuming that for the location grade, it is the same rules as the other project - it needs to fit into an actual physical space in the park? Also, I am assumign that we can take out existing rides to put ours in, etc?

I guess so, but if you are going to replace it, try to make it as different from the old one as possible.
