Default Disney's "Monsters, Inc." A New Broadway Musical!

Following the academy award winning film, Monsters, Inc. on broadway will have all the loveable characters from the film portrayed will songs by, Dolly Parton, The Jonas Brothers, Aly & AJ, Cute is What We Aim For & Robbie Williams all while following score composed by Randy Newman & Tim Rice.

The show will be portrayed by blacklight puppets created by Michael Curry well known as the man behind the puppets of The Lion King & Finding Nemo.

It would play at the New Amsterdam Theatre where Lion King would be moved to a new theatre.

The puppets would be puppeteered by successful puppeteers from around the world while they'd be voiced by famous broadway stars by using microphones in a hidden room. We may also have cast memmbers disguised as people watching the show.

I don't know who I'd want in the cast but I know I want, Richard Dreyfuss best known from Jaws & Mr. Holland's Opus providing the voice of Waternoose.

^just a correction for above, the lion king already moved out of the New Amsterdam. Now Mary Poppins is playing in the New Amsterdam and it looks like mary can't pack up and move so easily. You could put this into the Richard Rogers theatre, where Tarzan now plays

I really like the idea. Just some thoughts:
If you're gonna have famous people voice the puppets we should at least be able to see them. Plus if you hear the voices and see the puppets you'll wonder where the voices are coming from which would be distracting to the audience. It would also be a little tough to match your voice with the puppet's mouth movements. If the whole thing could work the way your saying they could at least be below the stage sitting and doing the voices which would be unique.

But anyways, I like the idea!

^ yeah, It would be probably best if the people who voice the characters to puppeteer them. And black light for an entire show would kindda seem strange, or even tacky. Why not engineer the show like Finding Nemo, where the actors are shown. It's actually kindda interesting to see the puppeteer

Maybe but it would be too much like Avenue Q & I've seen blacklight puppet shows & they're cool. And it would only look tacky if they didn't make the puppets look exactly like the real characters & I think Disney would watch over the production so I don't think you have to worry about it being too tacky.

^ True, but for a broadway musical? All of the sets and all would look kindda bizzare, since the puppeteers are supposed to be hidden
