Default Disneyland Park, Open Brainstorming

Ok I know Big Disney Fan has a very similar thread like this but this one differs a bit, it is like my Disneyland Australia, Open Brainstorming thread, and my Critter Country, Open Brainstorming thread. Except this one has a twist, this is only brainstorming for Disneyland Park alone, DCA will be fine after the big overhaul. Anyhow start pouring in ideas! This is open to anyone! Come on in, we enjoy help! So I will do Tomorrowland and Critter Country, and I think I know who is going to do Toon Town (ahem Big Disney Fan ).

Here is a rough draft of Tomorrowland, minus descriptions:

Tomorrowland- The new backstory of Tomorrowland begins with this. Hundreds of years from now, planet earth has become a sparkling utopia home to human beings, robots, and aliens from all across the universe. Tomorrowland is an urban space port, which has just recently been named the universe's number one tourist destination in history. Here intergalactic travelers journey to the bottom of the sea, fly to the moon and back, and drive along the highways of tomorrow. It is here where big interplanetary corporations like Buy 'n' Large, X-S, and Disney set up shop and sell their goods to excited patrons. The future as seen by classic futurists as Jules Verne, H.G. Wells, and George Lucas, is finally here!

Attractions and Entertainment

1. Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters- The same attraction we know and love will simply go down for a normal rehab, fixing targets, repainting, and animatronic tune ups.

2. Star Tours 2- This is already in the works with Lucas and Disney.

3. Rocket Jets- The original spinner attraction will be moved back to its original spot, replacing the funny-looking Observatron. Yes it will look like the original, white and black colored rockets all the way!

4. Tomorrowland Transit System- Narrated and operated by Tom Morrow, is a reincarnation of the PeopleMover! The trip is narrated by the robot (Nathan Lane) and will feature sleak different colored vehicles with rocketish points and slanted coverings.

5. CyberSpace Mountain- Replaces the Starcade.

6. Time Taxi- Board a time traveling taxi and travel back to the primeval world, the last great Ice Age, and the far off future a la Horizons. Replaces Honey, I Shrunk the Audience, and goes into the Primeval World diorma. The Grand Canyon will be disassembled and moved to Frontierland's portion of the track.

7. Space Mountain- Another fresh coat of white paint, plus the seasonal addition of Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy from HKDL.

8. Wall-E Vs. the Alien- A revision of ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter only X-S has been changed to Buy 'n' Large. When the alien escapes into the observation room however, the company sends in their highest security robot to come and stop it, only to accidentally send in Wall-E who is just as scared as the alien as we are, resulting in a hilarious struggle between the little robot and the giant bloodthirsty monster. Replaces Redd Rocket's Pizza Port, but don't worry the Moonliner will stay behind in place. The little security alien from TDL's Star Tours will be located at the exit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wi78_...eature=related

9. Tomorrowland Intergalactic Revue- Take a musical tour across the universe as your host Plectu introduces you to a wacky cast of characters such as Sonny Eclipse, Figment, and many more, this is one celebration you don't want to miss! Located on the first floor of the Carousel Theater.

10. Adventure Thru Inner Space- Shrink down to the size of an atom and explore the microscopic world, encountering giant vibrations, deadly bacteria and viruses, and many more dangers only known to inner space. Located on the second floor of the Carousel Theater.

11. Disneyland Railroad- The station will remain exactly the same as it is now. The bathrooms over there will be fixed and payed more attention to.

12. Disneyland Monorail- Leave as is.

13. Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage- Leave as is.

14. Autopia- Travel the highways of tomorrow driving along in hydrogen (whatever HKDL uses) powered cars past futuristic buildings, gardens and courtyards, hover cars, and a daring trip through a defunct robot junkyard!

15. House of the Future- Nestled alongside the submarine lagoon is the classic House of the Future, back and better than ever. The house features much of what appears in the Innoventions dream home today, as well as robots shown doing daily house work and chores and such.

Overview later.

Alright, I claim Frontierland...

In Frontierland, I'm going with the big one, Imagineering's unmade masterpiece, Discovery Bay. Out with Big Thunder Ranch and in with the faux-San Francisco harbour. Can you tell I'm jonesing for this one? Import Mysteries of the Nautilus, Cafe Hyperion, the Old Mill ride, and Tokyo's 20,000 Leagues set to Atlantis. In the latter's case, the existing stype of sub-pods are replaced with one's like those from the Atlantis film, and the sunken city itself is given the appropriate aesthetic. Once again, I am convinced that a strong ride will make up for a poor film. Another piece of evidence I present, besides all the classics not even based on films, is that Splash Mountain is popular even though no one has seen the film it is "based" on since 1986. Discovery Bay would also, as intended, provide a dedicated berth for the Columbia, in order to give it that harbour-like feel.

Unfortunately, in this setting, Big Thunder Mountain kind of undermines an import of Journey to the Centre of the Earth. In exchange, let's finally build Marc Davis' Western River Expedition back there. Or a version thereof. It does seem a little weak to me to have another western river indoors and beside the Rivers of America. Instead of boats, how about windwagons, as seen in The Saga of Windwagon Smith. In the new show building that would have to be built outside the berm for all of this, let's put the Grand Canyon Diorama. It fits better along the tracks in Frontierland than in Tomorrowland.

Over at the Golden Horseshoe, bring back the revue. That much is obvious. However, inbetween shows, turn it into an old-fashioned movie house. Lower a screen and show frontier-themed short cartoons: The Saga of Windwagon Smith, Paul Bunyan, John Henry, A Cowboy Needs a Horse, and any of the Mickey n' Friends toons that fit. Those can be interspersed with old-fashioned, humorous advertising slides (I keep thinking of the kind of stuff Ward Kimball made for his Grizzly Flats RR). I am perpetually baffled by how Disney does not use the opportunity of the parks to show those old cartoons and thereby refamiliarize guests with them, refreshing the franchise.

One thing I would love to see, though I am running out of room, is an expansion of the petting zoo into a full-on performance rodeo. That's probably quite overly ambitious, but I would like to keep the ranch in there somewhere and expand its collection of live animals to include a buffalo, maybe some pronghorn antelope, and some other wild and domestic pairie animals.

I don't know if Tom Sawyer's Island falls under my jursidiction anymore, or if that's New Orleans Square's. If I can lay some claim to it, I'd want to REdemolish Fort Wilderness, and RErebuild it in its original form. Then open it back up with a multimedia-freshened import of Paris' Legends of the Wild West. In order to tie things together, the main multimedia would be scenes from Davy Crockett films, especially Davy Crockett and the River Pirates.

Furthermore, since there doesn't seem to be a whole lot going on back there in the island's "Indian country" and the animatronic Indian Village would be displaced for Discovery Bay, bring back the live Indian Village, staffed by Native American interpreters. This would include a dancing circle. If it's impractical there, then I'd want to try and squeeze it in on the mainland opposite Big Thunder Mountain, where Cascade Peak used to be.

That seems like plenty to keep the area busy for now.

I want to help MEW do Critter Country, which is one the best lands in the WORLD!!!
First, some additions to Splash Mountain. When you enter the mountain, the geese on the left would be moved to the left to make room for an aditional scene. The Bre'r Bear trapped in the air will be taken out and the Bre'r Rabbit and Turtle scene will be moved here, but on the otherside of the river Bre'r Fox and Bre'r Bear will be in same postion as the Flordia ride. Then where the Bre'r Rabbit and Turtle scene was, the Bre'r Bear in a trap scene will be there. So in simple terms, the two scenes will be switched and with new animatronics(as with the rest of the ride). Then the gator will be replaced with a beaver singing in front of his house "Time to be turning around". Oh, and the area by the possoms will be replaced with houses with animals outside singing "How do you do".

More Coming Soon

I had this idea for a Pooh replacement, it is themed to the Three Little Pigs cartoon. In it the Big Bad Wolf has captured the two younger pigs and has run off with them to the swamps of Critter Country. You basically join the oldest pig and shine flashlights around the swamps and forests making creatures pop out and all.

Thanks! I remember getting my picture taken with the big bad wolf in Critter Country before the Pooh takeover began, I have never seen him there since. Like Song of the South, the Three Little Pigs deserves its own dark ride. I mean I miss the Country Bears, and the Pooh ride has become a family tradition for some strange reason, so just move Pooh to Fantasyland where he would actually attract crowds. Just don't let him replace Mr. Toad.

Yes this ride will be like the upcoming Monsters Inc. ride at TDL, only themed to the pigs than monsters.

One ride I would like to take charge of is Pirates of the Caribbean:

I know what you're thinking: Pirates of the Caribbean had just already been remodeled. Well, to be perfectly honest, while I do like the inclusions of the characters from the Pirate movies, I've never been a big fan of them redoing the story so it's the pirates going after Capt. Jack Sparrow and the treasure, instead of just the treasure. And they've removed a few bits of classic dialog here and there, too. So, how would I redo the ride? Well, taking some cues from the Pirates being designed for Disneyland Australia, here's how:
  1. First of all, the basic plot will now focus not so much on both Sparrow and the treasure the pirates all seek as just the treasure, thus necessitate the revisions of dialog
  2. In the haunted caverns scene (namely, as you head toward the treasure cave), you hear the classic "No fear have ye of evil curses..." line spoken by Paul Frees, which was similar to how it was shown when the ride was featured on the Disney anthology series in the late 1960s.
  3. Due to the revision to the plot, Barbossa yelling at the Spaniards on the whereabouts of Sparrow and the treasure has been edited accordingly.
  4. At the well, here again the plot dictates the revision of the dialog. It now goes back to the old way of speaking for the dialog on the whereabouts of the treasure. The pirate captain once again speaks the exact same way as before the revision.
  5. Strangely enough, the chase scene will be left untouched. This means that the Pooped Pirate will still speak of the treasure and how Sparrow will never find it.

Be sure to bring back the pirate in between the goat and horse to the chase scene!

Here is how the order of scenes would be for the three pigs ride

The Brick House- The ride would start in the brick house where you shine flashlights at the big bad wolf's minions that are hiding behind things.

Critter Village- A la Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, ride through this country village nearly running over a defenseless turtle, some street performing bears (Henry and Big Al), and a near collision with the village's mayor Sam the Eagle.

Big Bad Swamp- A dark and scary swamp where we are menaced by alligators, spiders, bears, and coyotes!

The Big Bad Wolf's Lair- The Wolf's cave where we capture him for good!

Celebration- All the critters of Critter Village have gathered together for a wonderful party to help celebrate their victory over the Wolf. We are awarded by Sam the Eagle as a symbol of our bravery.

Nice move of putting Sam the Eagle in there!

It might be worth noting that in the Three Little Pigs series, the Big Bad Wolf has three cubs and Red Riding Hood exists, in case that helps your brainstorming ^_^

For sure I am going to include the cubs but not Red riding hood, she belongs more in Fantasyland. I am going to include a few of the unused America Sings critters most notably Sam and Ollie, Ollie going to be the town's sherrif.
