Default Disneyland Canada

Wouldn't it be great to have a Disneyland Canada?

I understand that we are not all that far from the American parks, but it would be so nice to have one here at home. It would be far easier to go, financially anways, if there were one here. It would be very interesting to put a Canadian spin on things! It could be located in the central provinces. Because of weather conditions - perhaps even an indoor park?

Wouldn't it be loverly...

(This is not an actual suggestion - but a sort of "wouldn't it be great.." type of thing)

Lauren

Heh... Vancouver is more likely because of climate, and Ontario because of population, but yeah, it would be a pretty neat idea ^_^

So... Main Street Canada? An Alberta-centric Frontierland? Dominion Square? ^_^

I think it could work. They managed to put one in France and Japan. So, why not?

Sincerely, a brother of a half-demon,

Imagine Main Street Canada! Purrell dispensers at every turn, and you are flogged for bumping into anyone and not saying sorry. In fact, there is a minimum amount of "sorries" you are recquired to say per visit! :P
I think it could work. The market is certainly there for it, it would just be a matter of how "close" - Vancouver anyway - is to the original park.
Nice to see so many canucks on here! Hurrah!

I would love to see a Disneyland in Vancouver; I don't even think there are any theme parks there except Playland. I'm sure there is a large enough market to warrant a Disney park there some day.

That sounds interesting. I could never go because it would be far away, but it would be cool.

*chuckle* Actually, Edmonton is a fairly small city, just really spread out. It does already have the West Edmonton Mall though, whether that would help or hinder things.

My vote, of course, would be for Calgary ^_^

No... bad idea. Having lived in Toronto Ontario, the climate would forbid Disneyland to open 365 days a year. If any of you know what Paramount Canada's wonderland is, only open during the summer. 60 days.

And think about the crowds Disneyland Canada would have if it were placed in Southern Ontario. Crowded! Like maybe as close to New Years capacity everyday!(Noting the opening during June 14 to September 6) And Wonderland would be put out of business.

It's a good idea overall crowd wise, but to pay property tax in Toronto? Even for days it's closed(September 7th-June 13th)... It's very high and would not generate any money, but loss of money.

Well, I certainly wouldn't complain about a Disneyland on my doorstep ^_^

However, it would have to be either in Southern Ontario for population or Vancouver for climate. As noted, Southern Ontario would be a little on the chilly side, and Vancouver would just detract customers from Anaheim.

I thought Vancouver always rained? I wouldn't build Disneyland in a rainy city.
