Beauty and The Beast Ride

While waiting in line, we are surrounded by a small French village. The floor is cobblestone, there are stands and vendors painted on the walls. Through out the wait line, we can hear "Bonjour" being played. We cross over a small bridge onto the boarding dock. We come to see several carts lined up in a row attached to each other. The carts have horns and pipes sticking off of them and they look like they are poorly put together. Each cart seats two passengers and there are ten carts in the row. In each cart there is a magic mirror mounted on the inside where the riders can see it. As soon as everyone is loaded inside, the magic mirror's screen turns on and we see Belle.

Belle: "Hi everyone! Thanks for helping me test out Papa's new invention! We will just go drop it off for the inventor's contest!"

We set out through the small French village with animatronic vendors on both sides of the track. Some are behind their stands, others are in front waving their goods to be seen. This part of the ride is bright, like a sunny morning.

Vendor 1: Freshly baked bread here!

Vendor 2: How about some farm fresh eggs?

All of a sudden our cart starts to make noises. The horns attached to it start blowing and fake smoke rises from the pipes. Belle re-appears.

Belle: "Oh No! Something's wrong with Papa's invention!"

We do a sudden right turn into the dark, snowy woods.

Belle: "This is the wrong way! (The mirror's screen start to turn snowy, as we are losing signal) Be...careful....forest....danger....wolv es!" (The screen turns blank)

We move through the dark woods hearing owls hoot and wolves howling. We feel a cold blast of wind across our faces. Animatronic wolves pounce from both sides of the track. Our carts move faster as wolves continue to lunge at us. From behind us we can hear the wolves chasing us. Each cart individually spins and zig-zag as the carts stop in front of Beast's castle. Belle again re-appears.

Belle: "Yikes! The cart won't start! We must have spun out from the snow! Let's go in that castle and see if we can find some help."

At this time, the safety restraints are unlocked as the castle doors open. Two cast members come out, dressed appropriately dressed as furniture. (Since all the servants in the castle are furniture.) The cast members make sure everyone is out of the carts and hit a button sending the carts backwards to the boarding dock. Guests follow arrows and walk into the castle. Cast members follow inside and shut the doors. A light shows Lumiere and Cogsworth atop the stairs.

Lumiere: Oui! Oui! More guests! You are with the girl, no?

Cogsworth: Oh no! More visitors? The master will not be happy at all with this! Not one bit. The girl has already gone exploring the castle before we could catch her!

Lumiere: It's fine! It's fine. You all look very hungry! And it is so very cold outside. Come, come. It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that we welcome you tonight. And now, we invite to relax, let us pull up a chair, as the dining room proudly presents... your dinner.

Cogsworth: Now, I don't think...

Lumiere: Ssh!

Two elegant wooden doors open as we enter a large dining room. All the guests sit in chairs behind a large table.An animatronic Belle is seated at the long end of the table away from the guests. "Be Our Guest" plays as animatronic figures act out the scene. At the end of the performance, Belle speaks.

Belle: That was wonderful! But we really need help with our carts...you see...

Suddenly, atop the balcony, an animatronic Beast appears.

Beast: WHAT IS THIS? WHO ARE ALL THESE PEOPLE?

Lumiere: Oh, Master.. we were just...

Cogsworth: And I told him we shouldn't....

Beast: ENOUGH! TAKE THEM ALL OUT OF MY SIGHT! DON'T LET THEM NEAR THE WEST WING.

The two castmembers then escort us out, where we find more carts, which this time are in the shape of different characters. Again each is a two seater. We have Mrs. Potts, Chip, and Footstool. We get in and are about to pull out as Lumiere and Cogsworth appear.

Cogsworth: Now, it's best you stay of sight.

Lumiere: Ahhh, but feel free to make yourself at home.

As we are beginning to move we hear:

Cogsworth: DON'T GO IN THE WEST WING!

First we are in a long hall and pass a window. When we look out we see Belle and Beast playing in the snow, while a musical version of "Something There" plays.

We then turn left and enter the library and see Belle and Beast reading together.

Then we come to a door labeled "West Wing". Lumiere and Cogsworth appear.

Lumiere: There is really nothing in there that would interest you..

Cogsworth: Yes, nothing at all. Wait... WAIT!!!

Our carts enter the door. We are traveling in a dark hallway, with suits of armor on each side of the track. Painted portraits hang on the wall. Dusty statues adorn the room. At the end of the long hallway we see the Enchanted Rose in it's case. We creep closer and closer and as we are just about to reach the rose, a hairy arm comes out of the shadows and covers it as a booming voice yells.

Beast: I TOLD YOU NOT TO COME HERE. HOW DARE YOU DISOBEY....

Cogsworth appears.

Cogsworth: Master! Intruders! They have come to harm you!

Our carts then move quickly out of the west wing and through the main hall as animatronic characters are seen fighting the villagers who have come to attack. Our carts climb a staircase, where we are now on top of the castle. We see a quick push from Beast to Gaston which sends the animatronic falling over the ledge. We then are moving back down into the castle where we enter the ballroom and see Belle and Beast dancing. Instrumental "Beauty and the Beast" plays as the cast members let us out of our carts and we exit the building. The carts are again sent back to where they started.

I left the beast in his Beast form because in movies and books done after the original movie he is still in his beast form. I like him better as the Beast too. Thanks for reading.
