Default Aliens: Extermination

Before I begin, I completely acknowledge the fact that the original "Alien" and sequel "Aliens" from director Ridley Scott were extremely intense and may be questionable if turned into an attraction. I understand this drawback, but in my imagination, if done correctly it could be a unique experience. Maybe a little intense, but if WDI didn't cover these grounds before we wouldn't have Alien Encounter, the Alien segment of The Great Movie Ride, and Dinosaur. The reason I chose to do an attraction based upon the first and second film (mainly the second one though) is because I realized the potential for an action/adventure mixed with some horror. For the segments containing the creatures themselves, I'm saying right now that there will be no gore whatsoever. So, with no further ado, here is my concept for Aliens: Extermination

This attraction is for MGM Studios in Florida, or the HPB at DCA. The queue will be much like the holding area for Stitches Great Escape at WDW. When the doors open, groups of around 40-50 will be taken through at a time. The first room is the transport room. The entire floor will be on a hydrolic box spring much like the theater in HISTA. This room is themed to be a civilian transport taking guests to witness some experiments on the space ship Nostromo. Once the experience is over, the automatic doors will open and guests will be taken into a room with multiple rows for standing with the rows all facing a stage. To the left is a ramp and 6 doors much like the boarding area for Star Tours. The stage contains numerous futuristic devices that will be demonstrated during the guests stay. During the presentation, the lead scientist explains that there have been some minor disturbances on the surface of the nearby planet, but nothing to worry about. On viewscreens overhead, we see another trasnsport approaching. The scientist explains that this ship is coming from the surface and after the presentation will be taking the guests down to the planet's surface (planet LV-426). The transport veers off course though and crashes into the side of the Nostromo causing the entire room to go into lockdown. A giant hole rips into the back wall of the stage causing fog to fill the room. When a scientist tries to look inside to see if there are any survivors an alien grabs him and pulls him in the hole. Another scientist hits the panic button and in a matter of minutes a group of 3 colonial marines come in and blast the creature away. The marines then explain that the transport has damaged the ships navagation system and will crash into the surface at any moment. They then tell us that the nearest transport is a colonial dropship on the other side of the Nostromo. They take us into a maintenence corridor to get to the dropship. Throughout the short hallway we see numerous corridors and stairwells destroyed by the impact of the transport. We then enter the water service room and see that the entire area has already been transformed into a cocoon area for the aliens. While one marine tries to open the blast doors, another one is grabbed by an alien and pulled up into the ceiling. Once the doors are open, guests are taken through the observation lounge showing a space view of the planet below. On the other side is a bridge... but, it's been totally destroyed. A marine opens another door taking us through the fuel pump room. Halfway through, an alien appears and when a marine shoots at it, the pumps blow up causing the room to engluf in flames. The marines then lead the guests through a final set of blast doors and into the dropship staging area. This is where guests prepare to board the ship. Across the hallway is another set of blast doors that's being bombarded by aliens and slowing being torn open. Right before they can get in though, the doors for the dropship open on time and guests are led into one of two theaters themed to look like a giant marine drop ship. Inside guests are to choose one of 20 rows all in grids of 4. In the middle near the ceiling is an animatronic of Bishop the android from Aliens as the pilot in a rotating cockpit. Roller coaster like harnesses keep the guests seated at all times. During the trip though, we find out that some aliens made it onto the ship. From the time the dropship takes off to the time it lands, guests will hear the aliens ripping up the ship, crawling in the vents, feel the spikey tails slide across their legs, and feel the alien "drool" on their limbs. All this time, the surviving marines will be running all over the ship battling the aliens. The rows of seats will be on hydrolics giving a minor sense of motion, but hightened by special effects. The marines, to avoid tripping and falling will be running around on the catwalks and stairwells all over the ship. The climax will be the cargo door being ripped open by a queen alien (a REALLY big animatronic) and being battled by a marine who comes through a set of doors driving a cargo mech (the same one Ripley drove at the climax of Aliens). The queen is then launched through the airlock (behind the same doors where the mech came from) during which the entire ship is engulfed in the vaccum effect of space. When the ship lands and the lights come on, we see the ship with extreme damage. When the doors open, guests have the option of buying an onride photo (a camera is hidden above each row) and able to take pictures with the colonial marines.

The actual ride sound amazing! I would definately go on it. However, the preshow is a little too long and if it's shortened down, this would work perfectly.

Thanks! I got quite a bit of inspiration from the Borg show over in Vegas. What I was trying to accomplish with the simulator is a cross between Alien Encounter, Borg 4-D, and Star Tours.
