Default Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

A new ride from VFI (Visions Fantastic Imagineering) is a version of the loved Alice in Wonderland ride for Florida-goers. The ride is to be placed on the former site of Pooh's Playful Spot. The ride features some newer effects and a section with two tracks.

The queue is similar to DL except it includes a garden with odd shaped topiaries (one looks like the Nautilus). Before boarding, Alice's voice does the safety spiel:

Alice:Well hello! So you've found your way to Wonderland. But be careful, you never know what you'll run into, so please keep your hands, arms, feet and legs inside your caterpillar at all times, and please watch your children. And do keep an eye out for the White Rabbit.

The vehicles are different as another row is featured, making it 5 a car.

The ride begins the same as DL, twisting up a hill into a rabbit hole. Alice then narrates, "My adventures in Wonderland began when I followed the White Rabbit down the rabbit hole." At this point, the caterpillars enter a weird blacklit cave-ish room where numerous objects float in midair. The cars then enter the room with the doorknob, who says, "Ah, looking for the White Rabbit? Well, ha ha, have a look around, ha ha!" and opens. The cars enter a room that consists of an odd dark sea. Alice is seen bobbing up and down in a bottle saying, "Oh Mr. Rabbit! Please! Wait!" The guests then see some characters running around a rock and singing "Caucus Race" as the Dodo stands atop the rock. The cars then move into a forest where they encounter Dee & Dum. They perform the same scene in DL but slightly different. In one case, Dee may lean to the left and Dum to the right, but in other cases it might be vice versa. At this point, the cars will go onto one of two tracks, depending on which way Dum is leaning. Track Left: The cars go to the left and through some doors that look like leaves. They then enter a forest with weird trees and signs pointing in numerous directions. Guests see the moon which becomes the Cheshire Cat's smile as he says, "Lose something?". His head appears again later, but he replies, "I'm not sure where I am either." and his body appears on him out of nowhere. The cars soon find a way out and see the White Rabbit hopping about as he says, "Oh my goodness! I'm late! I'm late! I'm late!". Track Right: The cars go to the right and see the White Rabbit hopping up and down as he says, "No time to say hello, goodbye! I'm late! I'm late! I'm late!". The cars go through doors similar to the other track. The cars then enter the Singing Flower Garden, where the song "Golden Afternoon" is being sung. They pass the rose and a bread-and-butterfly, then proceeding past some spinning daffodils and a rocking-horsefly. They pass a white flower and a couple tulips before reaching the caterpillar, who is sitting on a mushroom, smoking his hooka, and singing "A-E-I-O-U". Unlike DL, his mouth moves as he speaks. He spots us and says, "Who are you?", shown in his smoke as "O R U" A tiger lily then says, "They're all weeds!" and a dandelion pops up. At this point, the tracks join back into one. The cars pass some huge teapots and see the Mad Hatter and the March Hare having a tea party and singing "The Unbirthday Song" and the scene follows like DL with the White Rabbit ducking as a huge cake explodes and the guests escape through a present. Instead of going outside, the cars go past a sign that reads "Tulgey Wood". Alice is heard saying, "Tulgey Wood? This would be a curious place to find the rabbit." The cars then pass the same creatures in DL but in a different order. They then see the cat in a tree. He says, "Oh, by the way, he went this way.", and his arm stretches out and his eyes spin like DL. The tree opens and the cars go through a small maze and soon see a sign that says "Royal Rose Garden". The guests then view the cards who are "Painting the Roses Red". The cars leave the maze and see some marching cards. Guests then pass under an arch made of cards and see the White Rabbit, who introduces the Queen of Hearts (followed by huge cheering) and the King (followed by a small "Hooray"). The Queen says, "Shall we play croquet, sweethart?". The King then says, "Rule 42:The Queen always wins." The cars enter a small tunnel where a hedgehog is seen rolling across the croquet course. It bumps against some courtroom doors which then open for the cars to go through. The guests see the Queen madly waving her fists and shouting, "That's enough! Off with her head!". The cars then pass an executioner, and then dash through numerous cards. The latter sequence is pretty much the same at DL, including the Goofy scream as the doors open. The cars go down the leaves but in a slightly different path than DL. The cars go back inside and like in DL, the cars go down towards the cat's rocking head in a tunnel of smoke. Alice says, "I do hope I don't meet anymore mad people." and the cat says, "Oh, you can't help that!" and laughs. The cars pass by many crazy lines and spirals with firework-like noises and a lot of strobe. The cars soon leave the madness and go back outside to the unloading area.

Some characters, like the runners and the first two cats, are cartoons instead of physical. The way the moon-to-grin effect is done in the ride now is how some characters will be done. The way that the car goes on one of two tracks is done in a way similar to California Screamin', where a little thing with two track segments is used.

The ride is similar to the original in the fact that the unbirthday party is in the middle of the ride and the ending is a resurrection of a similar scene near the old end.

Please post your honest opinions here if you want.

As always, Monkey

How about replacing some of the caterpillar cars with Cheshire Cat cars? His eyes and grin could glow in the dark, so that when someone in a caterpillar car passed near him, his eyes and grin would seem like only such features are there!

That would be a good idea, but I'm afraid it's impractical.

The way the cars are made make it just about impractical to do that idea the way the cat is drawn.

Once again, that is a great idea, but almost impossible to do.
