Thumbs down Always "new"

I like the fact that, because it's a projection system, they can change out the games on-the-fly. Once we've mastered the games that are currently playing, they can put up new ones. It can be an always "new" attraction.

sounds like fun to change it up often. And its a ride that could easily be done.

Halloween/Christmas overlays are fine if they're done right & people like them. If it's good enough, it can run for many years. That being said, Midway does have the advantage of easily changing its normal version, Halloween version, Holiday version, St. Patrick's Day version, Ash Wednesday version, and Tuesday Before Last Monday version rather easily since it'd simply be a matter of tweaking a computer program seen on a big screen.

They aren't failures, that's not my point. If someone lives a few hours a way from the park, and doesn't visit often, new things will often attract them to the park. Right now the current new thing is Midway Mania itself. If this person goes around october for their first time to see midway mania with the overlay, they know the overlay and won't go to the park. If they waited a year or so, then added the overlay, people will come to see the over lay. So that scores an extra visit for Disney for that person. Whereas, if they do the overlay now, that person, may just come in october and see the overlay. Thats one visit.

And they won't make a 2nd trip to see the 'normal' version? What about the locals who go to see Mansion in both Mansion form and HMH form multiple times every year? What about the people who go to Mickey's Halloween Treat every year, even though nothing much about that changes from year to year? Newness doesn't bring people back to the park, enjoyable activities do.

Doesn't matter how many years an overlay's been running, people will go & return if it's good in their minds. Heck, people keep going to the park during those times of the year simply because its Halloween time and Holiday time. The special offerings are just bonus on top of being there that time of year in the vast majority of guests' minds.

Most of the people in AZ won't go back to see the regular attraction. However if its been a year or two, they would go back. That's how my family does it. We got to Disney every 2-3 years. If nothing is new, we usually skip and go the next 2-3 years after that. A lot of my friends do the same.

Since DCA has Mickey's Halloween Treat, changing it for Halloween would be a great idea. Holiday themed? Still a good idea.

I live in Utah, and I would go to see the holiday version and then still go back again to see the normal version. If they posted that they were doing a holiday version people could chose to postpone the trip. I doubt that this is the only ride people are going for. no matter what, it's going to draw crowds. I think judging by its rave reviews thus far, it's not going to die down in popularity anytime soon....no matter what they do to it. Bring on the halloween version!
