Angry Speilberg remaking of Mary Poppins. OUTRAGEOUS!

I heard at Mouseinfo.com Steven Spielberg is making a Mary Poppins movie. I think it's a scandal. This is an outrage. He's giving Disney a bad name! SOMEBODY STOP THAT MAD MAN! ARE YOU WITH ME?

Ummmmmm!!!! I hope he isn't doing a remake. There is nothing wrong the the original. So Mary Poppins's umbrella will be replaced with a walkie-talkie, and the neighbor with the cannon on the roof will be changed to a garden since cannons promote violence, right?

And the whole cast will be played by Ewoks.
Just so happened the episode of South Park where Spielberg and Lucas set out to remake their flicks was on last night. Coincidence? I think not.

If he is making a new version, it won't be as great as what Disney has. He doesn't have the author's input at all since Travers is dead and she did a lot when it came to the script as much as a pain she was. I really hope it doesn't fall through.

Dark Horizons points to Spielberg Films, where the rumor of Steven Spielberg hoping to shoot a Mary Poppins remake finally comes to rest. Steven Spielberg's rep Marvin Levy responds, "I never heard of this and couldn't imagine Steven ever doing a remake of a classic - and a [Walt Disney] classic at that. There's a Broadway show from Disney but nothing involving us in any way."

So... it's not true. You can all give a sigh of relief now.

ugh, Mary poppins as a new movie, with Speilburg? I love his movies, but why would he have done it? There's nothing to make high-tech, and i love the movie

Spielberg has never directed a musical. In fact, I don't think he's even produced a musical. So, how do you know for a fact that Spielberg is not good with musicals?
