MICKEY MOUSE GETS NEW VOICE
Local character voice talent Bret Iwan is the new voice of Disney's famous mouse. Bret competed nationally to become the voice of Mickey and will handle a wide variety of talent duties. His first sessions with Chapman Recording was a voice used in a learning toy and then a series of prompts for the Disney cruise Line. Congratulations to Bret and Disney! (L-R Engineer Evan Clark & Talent Bret Iwam)

Here's the link that goes with that story: Chapman Recording & Mastering. Seems credible. I just find it odd that Disney didn't promote it like crazy?!!!

I hope that Wayne Allwine was approving of this. I heard that before he passed away, he was very much involved in the replacement voice process. I hope that they remain true.

I believe that show ended quite some time ago, but is still a regular show on the Playhouse Lineup. I think they'll use him for theme park stuff, etc. because I heard that instead of having seperate Mickey voices for theme park/Disney on Ice stuff, toys and stuff, and the main chunk of Disney that Mickey is used for (films and television), they'll have everyone do their voices for everything

I think Disney is waiting to make an official announcement later this week in the D23 expo, better have your heart in a good condition, cuz this week is gonna be a good one.
