Default Harry Potter

I've heard that a Harry Potter-like ride is coming. Anyone heard of this too?

Shouldn't be possible with Potter being distributed by Warner Bros. They used to be aligned with Six Flags but I'm not sure what's up with that anymore. IMO keep Potter out of theme parks. I really don't want to see every theme park become like Universal Studios with everything based on a movie.

There was a rumor about a year ago that Disney contracted with Scholastic to get the rights to Harry Potter (not the movie, but the books). This was a wild rumor and most everyone who had any kind of close connections to Disney at all were able to quickly dismiss it.

Disney DID contract the movie rights to Clive Barker's "Abarat"... which centers around an 8 year old girl in Minnesotta who gets drawn into a fantasy realm. This might be what you heard about as well. There were again rumors that Disneyland would have an Abarat-land if the movie went well. I know the book was being adapted for a movie by John Harrison, but I haven't heard anything more about this since last fall other than the movie's fate lay in the popularity of "Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy" and "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe". The first movie kind of tanked, so it'll be interesting to see if the popularity of a movie with strong Christian undertones that has already been done several times, can bring about the creation of a decidedly non-Christian movie and even a land in a theme park.

Narnia won't ever be an attraction. It's really not something for a ride. They couldn't even make a cheesy dark ride out of it since it's live action.

I can't even see or imagine a Potter ride in my head. Exactly what would it center on? There's too much to cover.
Still, I think I would have settled if Disney picked up the rights and animated the films or at least created a series. *Drools.*

Maybe Harry Potter shouldn't be touched by theme parks. At all.
That would ruin it for hardcore fans like myself.

I DON'T think Harry Potter should be put in the parks EVER. But someone beffore mentioned it's too broad to base an attraction on. However, if they were making one, one of the 3D shows with lots of magic 3D gags and stuff could be intereting. VERY corny though. Stupid in my opinion. Again, don't do Harry please!!

Ya, I'm a pretty hardcore fan myself and I think that it should have just been left to the books and thats it. Or gotten something better for the movies (Bigger Budget). Definetly no theme park ride.

I don't think I could respect Disney if that happened. Even with the Narnia stuff, and I love the books.

Well, I think there was already a thread about this. I think it would be horrible to see it in Disneyland, but it would be kinda nice to see it in the UK pavillion at Epcot. And if it IS done, I think it should be centered around the magical world, or Hogwarts, but DEFINETLY NOT around Harry Potter!!!(the character)kinda like Star Tours. But I think if it's done well, I would love it.

I would be pretty mad if any Disney park had a Harry Potter ride. How could someone make that into a ride anyway? Harry Potter doesn't really have anything to do with Disney...That'd be so stupid.

No, that will never happen. DISNEY will never build a WARNER type attraction. Sorry...
