Fox and the Hound 2 Last Disney Sequel

According to Jim Hill Media, Fox and the Hound 2 is supposed to be the last sequel/midquel/prequel from the Toon Studios. COOL!!

of course the already in production movies (Tinkerbell, Cinderella 3, etc.) will come out as scheduled, but no more new features will be greenlit.

Except that TinkerBell is planned as the first of a series of Disney Fairies films.

^^right. i think that Toon Studios will go ahead with franchises like the Faries line and the Princess line, but supposedly they won't ever again create like a Dumbo 2 or something that has to do with the continuation of a movie in the Disney canon.

That's good to hear. I haven't seen to many of the straight to video sequels, but from what I have seen (Lion King 1 1/2, Hunchback 2), they are fairly good movies. I still think having all those sequels is a bad idea though.

That's good. They really need to come up with some new movies and not just continue with the classics. Some of them give the original a bad name.

I have always said that Disney makes too many sequels and that if they made a sequel out of Snow White or Mary Poppins I will lose faith in Disney.

I am certainly glad if this is true. But I feel they already caused enough damag to their classic films. Atleast it can finally end.

Okay, there's good news and bad news. The bad news is you're incorrect that is not the last Disney sequel. But, the good news is believe it or not, the upcoming Little Mermaid III is coming in 2008 and that one will be the last Disney sequel. ^^actually, The Fox and the Hound 2 IS the last Disney sequel/midquel/prequel. Disney Toon Studios will however still make Direct-to-DVD films that support their already established franchises like the Faries, Princesses, Winnie the Pooh, and Mickey and Friends. That's why we will see the release of Cinderella 3, Little Mermaid 3, and Tinkerbell. But the studios will not make any films that have to do with the continuation of the stories of movies in the Disney canon (besides the Princess movies). So we won't see a Dumbo 2 or something like that.

I have Fox and the Hound 2 and it was darling. I love the dog twins named Wayland and Floyd. I love it when they do their cute little dance.

Hurray! No more of these crudy sequels. Some of them were pretty good, but some of them are just plain silly. Disney should just leave the classics alone. There just much better that way.

I will JUMP FOR JOY if this is true. I'm so sick of sequels and prequels that I could barf. Truely, the most obnoxious part is that they usually make the sequals so long after the original that none of the original voices are in the movies. I just can't get into a sequal that has voices that don't sound anything like the originals. Plus people just need to come up with their own freaking ideas.
Aaaaand I'm done griping. Sorry for the rant :D
