As a Texan, I sure wouldn't say no to a park here! I haven't heard anything about it, however, and I read the Houston Chronicle all the way through every day. I'm going to assume that it's just a rumor.

Disney in Texas? No...Disney's mind-set is if you live anywhere north of Fresno and east of Blythe, then you go to WDW with all the other happy drones.

Hey, less people at DL for us! It's sad but true, though, here in Texas you'd think that WDW is turning 50, not DL. Personally, I think Disney's wary of another U.S. park after the hullabaloo over the proposed park in Virginia, what was that, 10 years ago?

NASCAR built a racetrack in Texas for that very reason. Now there's major races in Kansas & Ohio, and Texas just got a 2nd date this year. Expanding any business into the midwest is certainly not a bad idea. In fact, there's a Sea World park in San Antonio if I'm right. Six Flags in down there as well with Fiesta Texas.

Will Disney expand down there? I doubt it. Right now the WDW parks are the most attended theme parks in the world. Because of that, Disney makes a great deal of their yearly income from the prices those parks & resorts can go for with that demand. An expansion into the midwest will only serve to move would-be WDW guests to the new TX resort, thus lowering WDW's numbers. Remember we don't want Disney to become Six Flags and grow beyond their means. Having 2 resorts in USA and 1 resort in China (Hong Kong), Japan, and France; you get the feeling Disney wants to be a worldwide empire. 2 mega resorts in the USA would seem to be enough in that context. Those of you who live in places like Nebraska or Wisconsin may feel a little glum about that but, such is life.

Couldn't have said it better. Nothing personal to Disney, but they really need to stop cloning. Also, I don't think another Disney park would be a bad idea in the states, I just don't think in Texas. Nothing personal to Texas. Here again it is just a rumor and has not gone beyond that.

Hehe, it *is* true that the Pacific Northwest is the ONLY region in North America lacking a major theme park. Six Flags recently purchased the itty-bitty one just south of Seattle, but they haven't done much to it.

They were also the birthplace of Grunge Rock with a little band called Nirvana so that's pretty good. I believe the Space Needle was built for their Expo ages ago. I have a feeling that Judo Lin has a place to put it now though lol!

Disney is already looking in Austrailia, Korea, and possibly another location in China (remember, its a BIG country) for potential theme park real estate.

They are turning into a McDonalds.

I would have to agree. But if one was put up here I dont think it would last a week. weather and population would not be strong enough.
