The time capsule at Disneyland is buried in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, not under it. It was buried on Disneyland's 40th birthday and is scheduled to be opened on Disneyland's 80th birthday in 2035. That is (obviously) 20 years before the 100th birthday.
It is pretty well known what is in the capsule. You can find lists on various websites. None of them mention blue prints of future projects. I would consider this just another of the many urban myths about Disney. (You mentioned Oklahoma in your post. There is a town in OK named Disney. Disney, OK is named after W.E. Disney, but it's not Walt. The town was named for Wesley E. Disney, an Oklahoma congressman elected in 1930.) Rumors about a Disney theme park venture of some sort in Texas have been floating around for a long time. I wouldn't take a rumor like that very seriously.

According to the Oglethorpe University Web Site, the time capsule contains 62 items. They include:
-Photos of early Disneyland -An aerial photo of Disneyland from 1995 -Numerous items of 1995 logo-themed merchandise sold at the park - Several scrolls of thoughts and quotes signed by Disney executives including Eisner, Marty Sklar and Roy E. Disney -Photos and information regarding IJA and it's dedication in 1995 -A 1995 Disneyland Press Kit -A Copy of Disney Magazine from that time -A "40 Years of Adventure" Cast Member name tag with the name "Mickey" -A group Cast Member photo taken on Main Street the morning before the capsule was buried. Nearly every CM there that day was in the photo. -Blue prints for a top secret, Rhode Island-sized Disney Universe project somewhere in middle America (my sincere apologies, I couldn't resist that one.) Evidently, the items along with the capsule were on display in the Opera House for awhile before they were buried. The items to be preserved were never kept a secret. And just so no one misunderstands, I made up the bit abut the blue prints... The capsule, which Disney calls a Time Castle, was shaped like Sleeping Beauty's Castle with the top on hinges so it could open and items placed inside. A couple of accounts say that the Time Castle was used in the ceremony on 7/17/95 but that after the park closed, the items were transfered into a hazmat type plastic barrel that was actually buried. I guess the truth of that will be discovered on 7/17/2035.

kool.....there were plans for a park called, "Disney's America" or something like that, to be placed in Virgina. Also, Westcot, derived from Epcot, was also supposed to be made somewhere out west. Both ideas were not put into place.

The capsule I am talking about is obvioulsy something more secretive, it is not the one in front of the castle, but really below it, placed there in the late 60's after Walt's death. I know this is bizarre, but, woulnt it be cool?? btw wedbliss, that was a hit below the belt (lol)

In theroy, there was supposed to be some concept drawings for a considerably more massive Disney park than WDW, a small city or something like that (I'm not too sure what). However, if those rumored drawings were real, they were likely just fanciful ideas from the art department and not any serious venture on Disney's part.

I do apologize to you emman. Sometimes my sense of humor gets me in trouble. I mean no disrepect to you at all.
I still do find it hard to believe such a rumor. I would like to point out that I like to hear rumors like this, even if I don't believe in them. Thanks for starting this thread.
