Default Disney buys marvel, will it affect the parks?

Disney just recently bought marvel entertainment. Now that they own all the marvel characters, Will spiderman and other marvel characters invade the parks? I for one, hope they don't!

That is the last thing I want to see running around Disneyland........a bunch of comic book caricatures. I have enough fun with all the great Disney people. I don't need all the super hero's and villians from comic books. I think it would destroy all that is good in Disneyland.

I totally agree. Only original Disney characters should be allowed to roam around Disneyland.

Honestly, I would expect both companies to remain separate in that regard. Just as I don't think you will see Marvel characters run around Disneyland, I don't think you'll see Mickey, Donald and Goofy show up in the next issue of The Avengers.
If it affects any park, I suppose it would be Universal Studios.

One does wonder what it would do there, and how immediate it would be...

I wouldn't put it past Disney if a tie-in seemed marketable to put them into a park.

Or even build a separate park.

Can't see any of it merging in with current themeparks however....

Thumbs up Coming to Disney parks... not likely

I'm listening to the conference call about the deal. It doesn't sound like Disney will attempt to buy-out the licensing deals that Marvel already has. Hulk, Spiderman, X-Men and Iron Man will be staying at Universal, Columbia, Fox and Paramount. Most movie deals nowadays include theme park rights, so I doubt we'll ever see Spidey or Iron Man at Disney Parks.

Also, Iger said that he doesn't want to re-brand Marvel as a Disney brand. He also said that the movie deals that Marvel has made were very good deals. It doesn't sound like future movie deals would be exclusively in-house Disney only...

Although I'm sure Disney would like to cherry-pick the properties that fit the Disney brand. There was some discussion durring the call about whether Pixar would have access or interest in any Marvel properties.

Should future projects end up at Disney or Pixar... I think those new-project characters would end up in the parks. Hopefully at Hollywood Pictures Backlot or Disney's Hollywood Studios.

I hope they don't..

It would be wierd.

When you think of Disneyland.. you really don't think of Spiderman and all the other Marvel comic book heroes..

In fact.. when I think of disneyland.. the only superheros I think of are The Incredibles..

It'd just be a wierd combination.. Marvel Heros and Disney Characters in one park...

Ok this sucks. I just can't see why Disney would do that. That doesn't really go with what they've worked on since 1928. Honestly, I go against this, but unfortunately, it's already done.

Just do NOT let those characters in the park! It would ruin all the magic that Disney and DL have created over the past decade, and more. And besides, I don't want to see Spiderman, Batman, or whoever running around the park. The only type of superhero I want to see around Disneyland are The Incredibles. That's it. Other than that, those characters need to stay out of DL!

They bought Muppets and Pixar. I don't see what's wrong with them buying Marvel. However, they did bring Pixar into the parks and a Muppets 3D show, (and Muppets are taking over next year for the 55th promotion), so they might bring in Marvel. Who knows. I'd be less angry if they brought them into DCA, maybe into Hollywoodland. But I am perfectly fine with the purchase of Marvel. It's all just to expand their business.

Well I'm watching Central Florida News13 and they provided some info.
All in all, I think they will include some characters in DHS.
Well hopefully this sparks a refurb of The Great Movie Ride.

EDIT: Disney says the ideas are already flowing!!! According to News13. They say there will be some big changes.

Okay, I'm going to whine..........

They make this purchase, but raise the theme park admission prices. : ( They do not need any extra money!! (And usually I say DL is way worth it.)
