Autopia Re-vamped by Cars Ride?

My friend told me that Disney is probably going to keep the name Autopia for the car ride, but he also said that their cars are probably going to be re-modeled after the Pixar movie Cars. Any say on this?

This is probably only a rumor and there has been no word on this as far as I've heard. It wouldnt suprise me that Disney would revamp one of their original rides by adding a Pixar feel to it. This is still unlikely. Plus, the rumors for a Cars ride is for DCA and not DL.

I've actually heard it bantered around different places. DL Paris has announced their's, but anything else is minor hearsay. Chevron's got a few years left on its Disney contract so if it did happen @ Disneyland, it wouldn't happen in this decade most likely.

i have heard this a few times, and like i have said before, how would you sit in the cars? all of them (i think) in the movie have roofs, and none are convertibles. the fun of the ride is sitting outside while driving. also, everyone is going to want lightning or the blue car(forgot her name for some reason....) and what happens when you get stuck with luigi? lol, "i wanna drive the forklift mommy!" since they re did it a few years ago, i doubt they will re re do it

I kinda wish they'd just undo it. I've always thought Autopia is a waste of space. Not futuristic, so not sure what it's place in tomorrowland is. Boring for older people. Too hard to drive for little kids. Weak theming. Not really anything to see on the road. I wish they'd just rip it out and put something cool there.

^^^ well, it was one of the original rides, and walt disney put it in for a reason. (i think it was his daughter who crashed their car into something so walt wanted a fun and safe place for kids to drive) it really isnt futureistic, like you said, but i doubt they would take it out

Yeah I never gave my opinion, I also think it'll kill the tomorrowland view. They are kind of already destroying it in Florida with the Laugh Floor Comedy Club in Tomorrowland based off of Monsters Inc.

^^Right now it is closed, the reason is they needed to get a crane into the nemo area. I don't know how long it will be there, so they may keep it closed until the crane is done. They also added safety rails to the loading area, so you the cars park in the right spot, and so ppl don't jump into the middle of the track. Also for some matinence, and some tree tirmming. They may also wait until the ramp is completed.

lol. Last year my dad brought his girlfriend's kids along to DLR and they rode Autopia. One of them kept stopping, afraid she would ram into another car and she kept up a whole line of Autopia drivers, including me! I was literally laughing afterwords and making fun of her. lol.

How about... something like test track maybe? Take out autopia and innoventions and put something like test track. Or just take out innoventions and put Stich Escape there.

I would like to see test track on the un-used Peoplemover/Rocket Rods track! That would be awesome! Keep innoventions and Autopia and add Test Track atop Tomorrowland!
