I wouldn't want to get one because it sort of limits your shooting style I think. It might be good if you're just doing single long takes that fill up a DVD nicely, but even then if you planned on editing it or putting it with something else, what's the point of getting it on a dvd right away. Just wastes a dvd before you edit stuff and then reburn the finished product onto a dvd.

***on the topic***
I use moviemaker and videowave ( part of roxio 7.5 ) both are simmular, but I find videowave has many more options as for transitions, effects and such, but I prefer moviemaker for text overlays and credits. when I have the time I use a combination of the 2. if I'm in a hurry I just use videowave. as for filming, I am using a sony dsc-93, a 5.1MP digital camera in video mode. it shoots MPEG4 files and it's very small and easy to handle on rides. (plus it gets excellent photos - Best $250.00 I ever spent!) (next to the $200+ on the AP)

Full Name to My Knowledge Adobe Premiere Pro works best on Windows XP Home Edition with a 3.0+ Pentium 4 HT Processor and 1 GB or more of Ram the above is the OPTIMUM SET-UP Adobe Premiere Pro will work on a Pentium 4 2.0 GHZ 512 Ram Windows XP computer.
But I only use Sony Vegas Video 6. But seeing that Vegas 6 and Adobe Premier Pro are alot a like the above is probably true for both of them SM |

i use a Sony digital 8 camcorder (forget the model, it's got a 4" LCD screen and b+w viewfinder). I use MovieMaker2 or Pinnacle Studio 8. I have Premere, but dislike it, and I have Pinnacle Studio 10 pro, but haven't edited any movies since purchasing it, so it's sits still sealed in the box in my closet.
I keep saying I'm going to do a video AND photo update one of these days, but haven't gotten a 'round tuit'. I'd really like to purchase one of the 3 CCD camcorders, but thier need for very good lighting conditions scares me. I have Windows XP Professional SP2 running on a hand made P4 2.0 ghz processor with 1MB ram and a 200GB raid drive dedicated to video capture with both USB2 and Firewire. I have no problems. Fantasmic!kid, if you purchase some RAM for your computer (less than $100) you shouldn't have any problems as long as your hard drive has the space/capability (having firewire would be a big help too) |
