Default Electrical Water Pageant music

Does anyone know what the music was for the Electrical Water Pageant? I do know that in the early days that it was the music that would be used in the original Disneyland Electrical Parade of '72. And I also know of the present day music, which includes several songs from The Little Mermaid. But what I want to know is, what was the music of the Electrical Water Pageant in the 1980s?

I'm not asking for downloads of the music, just what the music is.

It's a show that was a precursor for the Electrical Parade. The Electrical Water Pageant is a nightly display that makes its circuit around Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake for the Magic Kingdom area resorts.

The pageant consists of two strings of seven barges, each carrying a 25-foot-tall screen of lights. The pageant features King Triton and creatures from under the sea -- turtles, whales, seahorses, even a sea monster! -- in an aquatic parade set to Disney and other music.

And the finale of the pageant is an inspirational salute to America, with Flags and Stars set to a patriotic musical medley of God Bless America, Yankee Doodle, and You're a Grand Old Flag.

Now, do you understand?

Shouldn't electricity and water never be mixed, ever? The "The Electrical Water Pageant" sounds dangerous...

Seriously though, that sounds neat.

Here, let me help you make it easier for you to answer my above question:

The music of the Electrical Water Pageant is much different today. The current music wasn't always like this. The current music is directed by Steve Skorija and arranged by Michael Atwell. Here's the current soundtrack, depending on the parts depicted:
  1. INTRO: Fanfare/Daughters of Triton (from The Little Mermaid)
  2. DRAGON: The Dragon (by Michael Atwell)/Boo Bop BopBop Bop ((I Love You, Too) from Pete's Dragon)
  3. WHALE: A Whale of a Tale (from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea)
  4. TURTLE: The Turtle (by Michael Atwell)
  5. OCTOPUS: Poor Unfortunate Souls (from The Little Mermaid)
  6. DOLPHINS: The Dolphin (by Michael Atwell)
  7. DINOSAUR: Walk the Dinosaur (by the band Was (Not Was))
  8. ALLIGATOR: Never Smile At a Crocodile (from Peter Pan)
  9. KING NEPTUNE: Fanfare/Daughters of Triton and Under the Sea (from The Little Mermaid)
  10. PATRIOTIC FINALE: You're a Grand Old Flag, Yankee Doodle and America the Beautiful
  11. TRAVELING MUSIC: Jig (from The Little Mermaid)

As you can see, much of the present day music has been revised; much of it now from The Little Mermaid. But it wasn't always like this, though. I know for a fact that in the early days, it's music was the exact same music that would later be used in the original Disneyland Electrical Parade of '72. But between that time and this one, especially during the 1980s, the music was different. Does anyone know what it is? All I know is the patriotic songs heard in the finale and the music used to accompany King Neptune during this time was the "Water Music" piece by Handel. Does anyone else know anything else?

I think I saw a video on YouTube of the show that used the original music. I'll have to go back and find it.

What I want to know is what those songs that played there are. All I got was the one accompanying King Neptune. The music for that one sounds like Handel's "Water Suite" or something like that.

There are several videos of the show on YouTube, with all music versions. The third one is the original music, which is of the music later used in the original Disneyland Electrical Parade of '72.

I suggest checking out www.magicmusic.net and posting your topic there. They are the "real experts" (Randy Thornton, producer at WD Records even posts there on a regular basis) and can probably help you.
