It would... We just don't exactly know what Disney is playing in Downtown Disney these days. If you do, feel free to tell us and we'll work on adding it.

You can always send me a PM if you have any issues or inquiries with the Radio that you'd like me to take a look at.

Well, I have an issue. I had 3 titles played out, and had selected 3 more titles to play just after an 90 minutes of titles selected by other users, but after two titles had played, my selected titles immediately went to the top of the playlist, making it appear that I selected more than 3 titles in an hour.

This would result if titles you requested were also requested by other listeners. The staff can track your precise statistics, and we would be aware of this situation.

When is the random song generator goign to be fixed? Most of the songs it plays are fine, but it freqents ToT and HMH, along with several other songs that are high requested as is. Also, quick question: if no one else is requesting (and you give plenty of time for them to do so, can you request more songs rather than let the randomizer kick in? And when exactly does a song become overplayed and thus temproarily blocked?

-Ara

PS. I have the rest of an album that is partially uploaded on the site, and would like to finish it out. Who do I contact for that?

First, even if the queue is empty, that isn't an excuse to post beyond the 3 titles per hour. As it stands, you'd see people filling up the queue constantly. Please follow the rules we've put into effect.

The randomizer bug isn't something we can easily remedy at this point and we can only temporarily remove materials that get overplayed or requested too much. We haven't set specific limits and this must be done manually. If you feel a track is being overplayed or requested too much, contact either CA Screamin Dude, myself or Neo and we can take care of it for you.

As far as the ramdomizer goes, the problem will become less apparent when more requests start coming in, so encourage your fellow VFers to try out the Request system, but keep in mind songs that are requested more will get more airtime.

Regarding materials you'd like to contribute to the station, contact CA Screamin Dude or Neo privately about this.

Titles may become blocked because they are: longer than 10 minutes, are area music loops or fractions thereof, are being played by the randomizer many times during a given period of time for at least one week, or are similar to other popular titles.

Titles may become hidden because they are: requested too often (abused).

Hey guys great job on the request system is there any way to put the request part next to the radio box though? That way I don't have to keep finding this thread and I won't have to worry about it getting bumped out of the site updates. Thanks!

On the main page - http://www.visionsfantastic.com/main.php by the radio is a link that says "Make a Request" that will bring you directly to the Request system. We'd really like people to read the Site Announcements thread about the radio to help prevent people from breaking the rules (requesting too many songs, etc). Most times when we have to remove somebody's access to the radio, they often state they weren't aware of the rules.

I'd like to remind everyone to not go over the three titles per hour maximum we have set. If you are requesting a longer track, such as any area music #'d file, please keep it to one request per hour. Regardles, you should not be requesting more than 25 minutes of audio in any given 60 minute period. Do not play longer area music files back-to-back, and use the system's "Play History" function to see what has just played, so we aren't playing the same material over and over.

Not following these guidelines may result in your account being banned, and your songs skipped!

OK, maybe I'm getting nitpicky, but I just want to get the rules right. Ezra donated some of his records to the collection, which I've noticed are in two parts. After the two parts play, they usually come closer to 40 minutes than the requested 25. Is this acceptable in these vases?

Again, sorry for nitpicking, I would just like to hear some of these records in their entirety!
Thanks

I'm going to say yes, that would be acceptable. However, I'll ask a few things: first, make sure the titles haven't played recently (click on the H link you see next to the request button to see the title's play history, recently for these longer files means within the past 24-36 hours); second, request one at a time in this situation, wait to request the second of two parts until the first one is just about done. That will give other users a chance to request songs to play in between the two lengthier files if they so choose - an "intermission" of sorts can be refreshing for some users here.

Because of the database crash a few months ago, we lost our Area Loop #'d files (all around 15 minutes in length), and instead, we have some ~60 minute loops in the system. You may request one of these loops, but we ask that you limit any requests of these loops to one per day. I've also been modifying the playlist recently after seeing two long files requested consecutively: remember not to request long files (:15+) back to back.

Thanks,
CASD

A reminder to all VF Radio listeners now that we have our Area Loop #'d files back...

1. Please limit your requests to 3 titles per hour. If you're going to play a very long sound file of 15 minutes or more (queue music, loops), limit your request to ONE title per hour. Excessive use of the Request system may have an impact on your VF account. Don't abuse it!

2. At any time a VF Staff Member may alter the current playlist if we feel a particular title is being overplayed or a particular user is abusing the Request system. Requesters must follow the instructions of VF staff at all times.

3. Do not ask in the Shoutbox, boards, PMs, etc, for copies of material played on VF Radio. Doing this may result in action being taken against your account.

4. Please be considerate of other listeners. Do not request the same title that has just played several songs ago. Click the Play History link on the left column to see what has played recently.

5. Limit your total request time to no longer than 25 minutes of run time per hour.

This means, do not request area music loops of 15 minutes each back to back.

Note that as of 02/02/2009, using the same username for both VF and the VF Radio Request System is now required. As of 02/02/2009, it is against VF Radio Request System guidelines to operate a username not identical to a current VF username.

Consistent breaching of these guidelines will result in Account Suspension.

I know this track was in the VF radio library a while back, but it doesn't seem to show up now. The particular track I'd like re-added to the radio is the Wishes Exit Music, instrumental and non, if possible.
