The newest VF Contest will take place now through October 31, the Halloween Avatar Costume Contest.

We're looking for the best Halloween themed avatar on VF, and we will award up to two Premium Memberships for the winners. If you already have a Premium Membership, your subscription will be extended.

To play, change your avatar to fit a Halloween theme. The most clever, creative, fun, interesting, or downright spooky avatar will win you the Premium Membership prize. You can change your avatar, user title, signature, and whatever other aspect of your profile you think will help you convey your Halloween theme (all within the bounds of VF Guidelines, of course!)

*Note, to enter the competition, please reply to this thread and explain to VF what your avatar costume is and why it should win*

Avatars, Signatures and Graphics Posting

1. Avatars must be no more than 200 pixels wide with a maximum height of 250 pixels. Uploaded avatars must not exceed 64k. Use care when using remotely-hosted images and/or animations. Large animations (filesize) may create slowdowns for users on a slower connection.

2. Graphics used in signatures must not be larger than 600 pixels wide and 150 pixels high. They must not exceed 64k. You may only have ONE image in your signature with up to 4 lines of regular text OR up to 8 lines of single-spaced regular sized text. Please use care when using large size fonts in your signature and make sure they don't exceed the length of six lines of regular (10pt) text. Your signature cannot contain anything that can be construed as hateful or abusive to another person, company or organization.

3. Javascript or other coding is not allowed in your signature. A countdown timer is available in your PROFILE.

4. When posting a graphic in your message, please try to keep the image to less than 640 pixels wide and 480 pixels high. When possible, post a small thumbnail image and link to the corresponding image in the Visions Gallery . Each user has 6 megabytes of free space in the Visions Gallery. You can also attach a photo to a message and it will create the thumbnail for you.

Winner(s) will be announced October 31.

Am I still the only applicant? Well, I guess I'll gear for it, then.

I picked Genie because he's not just one costume. Look at all the ones I have here, and this is only the ones that would fit in such a small banner. He's also the ultimate prankster for the typical pre-Halloween shenanigans.

I'll go for it my theme is classic horror monsters. The ones in my sig are classic movie monsters and my avatar is the one and only headless horseman who I put over there cuz he doesn't exactly have a classic movie

I'd like to thank the academy- and this is the best treat I got for Halloween (I had to stay in to get a project done so I couldn't go trick-or-treating), so I'm glad it paid off!
