I hate paypal. I wish there was another way to pay. Oh well...

One of these days I'm gonna make a paypal account (even though they are evil) just so that I can have a Premium Membership.

^ I don't think there's anything evil with Paypal. My family has an one since 2001.

^ I know a lot of people who have been totally worked over by Paypal. Some of my friends refuse to use Paypal and ebay because of how terrible paypal is.

Unfortunately, a lot of the time that I have seen, when Paypal/Ebay are misused is when there's typically a problem, and a lot of these are caused by other people (disputes about products on EBAY seems to be a big issue). Tom, I'm not saying your friends may not have had legitimate complaints about Paypal, but anytime you involve products from EBAY or you are ordering products from a person instead of an actual company, you run the risk of being ripped off. That's not a flaw in Paypal neccessarily.

You can also run into problems if you unknowingly enter into a recurring payment that's automatically deducted without your knowledge.

Personally I've used Paypal for over 8 years and have never had an issue (and I've processed numerous transactions). Your mileage may vary, of course.

Chris has good points, Paypal is really convenient, your friends may of been trying to do something that you may never want or have to do with your account. I doubt that if you don't have an account by now, you're planning on doing major transactions. When it comes to basic use, it's as easy as clicking a button and typing in your password. It REALLY simple to use after you have all of you bank account/credit card info entered. I wouldn't let one complaint stop you from getting an account on Paypal, if you're using it only for buying things from eBay or buying a Premium Membership, you will have no problems.

I've been interested in joining the Premium Membership too. And now that I actually have a good job, I can do that, but I'll wait until after the Holidays! Craziness with the presents and food! It's just too much!!!
