Little Castles by Names?

I have noticed that almost everyone on VF has a castle either its white or gold. What exactly does it mean, and the certain colors? Or was it just at random type of thing. Thanks.

200-999 posts = Silver Castle
1000+ posts = Gold Castle

Its a nice little addition, but you shouldn't be encouraged to submit pointless posts just to get the gold castle.

I liked it without the post count. People were not posting random things in the wrong thread. Though, that problem has not occured yet recently, I have a feeling some members will want PMM's spot of Top Poster.

I myself had mixed emotions about the post count coming back because that has happened in the past, and it created some awkward situations that have become a part of VF's history.

Even though I am top poster, I never posted just for the sake of posting. If I didn't have anything to contribute, I didn't post. Furthermore, I always tried to keep my contributions readable and legible. I always tried to use proper grammar, punctuation and sentence structure. While this isn't English class, sentence does say something about the author of the post. In the real world, quality of writing has been known to make or break careers. No one's going to hire someone who writes ineligibly, and in some cases, the better your writing is, the better your work reputation will be. That being the case, rather than worry about it, or only write my best 'when it counts,' I always write in the best way I can. That way, when it does count, I won't have to worry much about it.

Bottom line, post count's just a number and 'top poster' is just a title. None of it means very much. I really hope nobody thinks they need to post like mad just to have that title. All it really says is that I've been here a very long time.

I think that they are really cute, and very informal. So now I know, but I think it would be cool to, if you could turn it off. So if you wanted people to see that or not. That would be cool.

I wasn't saying PMM's posts are for the sake of posting. If they were, why would most of them be multiple paragraphs!? haha

Well it's not really a big deal. I don't think people really look at others' counts lol. Well at least I don't unless somebody brings it up.
