Why is California Screamin' closing?

I read here on the rides refurbishment list, that California Screamin' will be closing from September 11, to December 15th. Why is this?

I read on MousePlanet that the closing has something to do with Midway Madness, or whatever it's gonna be called.

California Screamin' has not had a refurbishment since its opening in early 2001, and issues have become apparent during that time that need to be addressed in California Screamin's first refurbishment.

there doing every standered Coaster referbishment Checking breaks, adjusting and tighting bolts, fixing borken parts (Music) checking the Luanch platfrom ect....

Mouseplanet said it's going to be a Toy Story inspired ride under Screamin'.

Too bad they chose it to be Toy Story inspired instead of inspired by original creativity & imagination. New attraction, same DCA.

When you think of it. Disneyland is no longer a house of Imagination of Dreams anymore. Its a park for movie marketing. There are more movies in Disneyland than in MGM or WDS combined. How sad is that.

I wouldn't go that far, but the movie marketing is ever-increasing, and that will be deeply regretted one day.

What about last year when they had to close California Screamin' because of the collision between those two trains? I'm sure they did some fixing and refurbishment during those few months, don't you think?

They fixed what went wrong that caused the accident. No proper refurb has ever been undertaken on it.
