Default View from Sun Wheel

Confused a bit on the view of the park from the Sun Wheel. I saw a picture that shows the view through wired mesh and AllEars.Net says "There's an excellent view of DCA, Disneyland and the surrounding area, though the wire mesh makes it difficult to take pictures." but pictures of views from the sun wheel as I've seen in the picture below dont have the mesh. So how is the view from the sun wheel?

Perhaps the camera had a lens (?) small enough to peep through one of the "mesh's" holes?

Hmm..I'm not sure. In picture I saw with the wire cage looking mesh the holes were pretty small..I dont think it was big enough to take a picture through.

Hmm.. you're probably right. I'm looking at shots of myself in the Sun Wheel gondolas.. those holes really aren't that big.. oh the conundrum!

Maybe the view from moving compartments is different from the stationary ones? Anyone else who has been on the Sun Wheel know?

Interesting, I thought of that myself, but came to no conclusion.

The Sunwheel, is really scary. I would have been to scared to even try to take a picture! When I went back in '03, I went on the one that swings. I was screaming my head of, I think that was worse than my first time on TOT! But that is just me, it might not have been such a big deal if we hadn't been on the swinging one!

The picture was not photoshopped. As you can see here, this person took several clear shots from the Sun Wheel. Anyone else been on the Sun Wheel and know how the view is from up there?

You just stick your camera lens through the hole, or make sure that it's focused outside of the grating. It is quite easy to get clear shots from up there, though you many need to do some color correction.

I, at times, find it to be the scariest ride as well.
That and Soarin' at times get my fear of heights acting up.
I still love Soarin', the Sun Wheel though.. not so much.

I would nominate the Sun Wheel to be the scariest, most uncomfortable ride in all of Disneyland Resort.
I couldn't it and wanted to get off as soon as it started from my first, and only time on the Sun Wheel. Lol

^^ Glad to know, I was not the only one who was totally FREAKED OUT when on the Sun Wheel. I know my family was all pumped after that, I was a bit shaky for a little bit adjusting back to NOT swinging back and forth. I also have this fear about water. Like for instances, when I went on the Big Orange, totally freaked out. That might have to do with me being paranoid, along with all the bad things happening to me. Anyways, I just knew that my little seat on the big Orange was going to break and than I was going to fall into the water. TOTALLY FLIPPING OUT. Than on the Sun Wheel, totally feeling the same way. Only the whatever you call it where you are seating, freaking out that its going to swing to high and than the whole little car thing will fly into the water!

I love the sunwheel the first time is scary in the moving cars, but second isn't so bad. Ok so it is very possible to get a shot without the metal net. Most times the lens is thin enough to get through but its the casing that makes it thicker, so if you put the camera right up to the hole you can usually get a clear picture, with only the edges having a bit of mesh, so all you do is crop it.
