I went to TSM on friday and the line wasn't so bad... The longest it got to was the bridge leading to Screamin'. As it got to dusk the line barely even used the switchback hut-things. I got in four rides, and never got more than 200,000.

We went to DCA Friday night (June 20) for the sole purpose of riding TSMM. We arrived about 6:30 PM, walked to the attraction only to learn it had just gone down. California Screamin' went down too and they had to evacuated guest off the ride. We watched the cast members evacuate the guest from the first hill right after the linear induction launch. We didn't actually see the ride stop but we figured it must have been abrupt for the cars to stop that low on the hill after such a fast start.

We decided to walk around DCA and get some dinner instead of waiting in line for an attraction that may not open. One of the cast members told me that they wouldn't open TSMM until CS was back online. So we stayed in the Paradise Pier area and watched to see when the cars on CS were returned to the station. CS was cleared around 7:30 PM and we returned to TSMM only to find people waiting in line and the CMs telling everyone that the ride was still down and that they had no idea if it would be back up before the park closed.

We decided to walk around some more and look for a good spot for the Electeical Parade. We found an open spot on the parade route near Golden Dreams. It was about 8:35 PM and I decided to walk over to TSMM to check on the status. The ride had started to run again so we abandoned the parade hurried over to TSMM. It looked like we could walk on the ride because there was a big gap between the last person in line and the CM working the entrance to the cue area. That's when we realized the cue area extended across the walkway next to the launch area for CS. The CM working the real end of the line said it would be about a 90 minute wait from where we were standing. Turns out the wait was less than an hour.

TSMM is an awesome ride. IMHO one of the best rides ever. I picked up the feel for the game quickly and scored 122,000 with 30% accuracy my first time. The others in my group scored 74,000 and 37,500 with accuracy in the 30% range. Unfortunately, DCA closed while we were in line for the ride so we couldn't go on it again. But being an AP holder I knew I could come back Sunday and ride it again.

So I woke up early this morning and headed to DCA. I thought I could out smart everyone by going to breakfast in the Grand Californian and then use that entrance to beat all of the chumps at the entrance plaza. So at 9:55 AM I walked to the Grand Californian entrance to DCA only to have a CM inform me that this entrance is for DLR hotel guests only. Oh the humanity. So now I was on a power walk to the main gate hoping to compete with all of the people I was trying to out smart. The lines at the entrance to DCA were very short and I was in by 10:05 AM. I walked to bridge that takes you to Paradise Pier and noticed a long line of people. I thought to myself, "Hmmm, must be some pin event..." Until I got to the top and could see the line went past all of the shops and was headed towards TSMM. My heart sank and I turned around to walk to the end of the line hoping that for some reason they hadn't let the guests into the cue area. No luck. I talked to the CM patrolling the end of the line and he said it was a 3 to 3 1/2 hour wait from this point. I asked him what the patterns have been for the line all week and he said that so far the lines have died down to about an hour by 2:00 every day.

I decided that I didn't want to stand in the sun for three hours so I decided to get some exercise and walk around. Mr. Potato Head was worknig today (he was behind the curtains Friday night) so I stopped and watched him for about 10 minutes. He is very entertaining and I was impressed by his antics. He can pull his ear out of his head and put it back again. That's a good trick for a robot. He interacted with the guests which made it that much more fun.

I'm thinking about going back tonight to try my luck again but I might just wait until mid week when the crowds are a little lighter.

lucky you, you got to see Mr. Potato Head for more than 2 seconds. I was there Friday, too. I went on TSMM two times, hit GRR, then headed over to Disneyland, then came back and there were the curtains. He is a very cool animatronic, I didn't get to see him pull out his ear though, he just sang his little "one potato two potato three potato" song. But yes, that Grand Californian entrance is worth it to be utilized... if you have a hotel key. We always keep a hotel key with us from our previous visit, so we got to TSMM with no wait whatsoever the first two times. The next two were around an hour and a half. Sounds like you had a decent time though. Then again I know how it feels how you don't have to have an amazing time every visit, bc you're an AP. I love that feeling. :)

I now totally agree about what has been discussed in different places about heat issues in the queue. Some point during that big section (I had very little breakfast), I felt drowsy. Before entering the poster room, I felt like I was dying. Shortly after entering the poster room, I puked. The ride was still great (I rode later (with a new personal best!)), but this queue thing could be an issue...

TSMM!! was a really nice ride :D , that's all i have to say ;D , oh and the line was only 45minutes of waiting :D

oh and by the way, you need to be a hotel guest to use the Grand Californian DCA entrance when the park opens, later on in the day they let anyone go though that entrance ;]

I was the very last one on Midway tonight. Entered the line right at 10pm & was on by 10:30pm. None of this waiting 60+ mins in the heat for me!

I rode for the first time yesterday when the line was 100 minutes. I was just thankful it wasn't as hot as it was a few days ago. The ride was awesome. I especially like the part where you shoot the targets that increase after you shoot them for a while. The flying baloons and popping soda were cool too. 9/10 is my rating. Mainly because my arm started to get tired after shooting so much. Oh, and no single rider until the lines cool down.

(June 7th,2008)

Boarding Area and Car Design: 10/10 Beautifully detailed. Stunning.
Tutorial: 10/10 (So fun so shoot the character instead of the target!)
Game Area Design: 10/10
Egg Game: 10/10
Balloon Game: 10/10

Ring Toss: 9/10
Bullseye: 10/10
Mine Carts: 10/10
Bonus Round: 10/10

Overall rating: 9.5/10
8/10 (EJC)

This ride...I will repeat myself....my DREAM ride...I never thought ANYONE can pull it off...but Disney did!!! Good job WDI!!! I will ride TSM over and OVER and OVER!!!![/quote]

Now it has been officially 1 week since the ride opened and 16 days after I rode it for the first time. I will re-do my scores. (June 24th,2008)

Queue design: 0/10 I don't like walking back in forth in chains...nor do I like to be 2 feet away from Screamin coasters...it's so darn annoying...and there are no umbrellas in the regular queue (not extended portion) The building inside Toy Story Mania where it lists all the games has HORRIBLE ventilation. The game posters should not have been put there... if I could give it a lower score...I would.

Queue Efficiency: 9/10 One of the fastest queues I have been in. Blazes through the horrible queue.

Boarding Area and Car Design: 10/10

Tutorial: 10/10 (So fun so shoot the character instead of the target!)

Game Area Design: 9/10 (The area is so welcoming. The music really adds to the excitement! Very upbeat!)

Egg Game: 8/10

Balloon Game: 10/10 (Probably one of the best easter eggs in the game)

Army Men Plates: 10/10 (My favorite game. Excellent sound effects)

Ring Toss: 10/10 (Very challenging, but the target values make the game worthwhile)

Woody's Roundup: 10/10

Mine Carts: 10/10

Bonus Round: 10/10

Replay Value 10/10 (Its worth lining up over and over again and to challenge yourself to get on the high score "screen")

Overall Rating: 8.9/10

My high score is 170, 300. Not much but it's the fun that counts for me. Oh, and what's up with Potato Head. Last night I went he was all covered up. I peeked inside the curtain and he was just standing there, motionless. It was kind of sad.

I rode it for my first time...
Good grief, that was so much fun! I was laughing the whole time. I love the way the ride twists and turns and makes the atmosphere so much more exciting!
I loved the surprises in some of the games, such as the bursts of virtual confetti that shot at you with the blast of air. Man that took me by surprise!
I got 133,900 for my first go around. I love that the line moves at a good pace (what was supposed to be a 40 minute wait took me only 20 minutes!).

Question glasses?

Has anybody tried those polarized Real-D or Disney 3-D glasses from the movies? Do they work for this attraction?

I've tried something similar. This theater I like uses cheap (and somewhat uncomfortable) Dolby glasses instead of RealD ones. Even if you turn your head the image is ruined. I once tried to bring RealD glasses into a showing of Nightmare Before Christmas 3-D but it didn't work. So with that, I'm guessing RealD glasses wouldn't work at theme park 3D attractions.
