Default Tower of Terror questions.

Ok I had a few questions concerning the DCA Tower of Terror...

1) When you enter the building, you go into the Library and then from there the Boiler Room/basement. I was wondering if they were on the same floor or not.

2) The Boiler Room has an upstairs, so does that count as another floor, or is the boiler room an entire floor?

3) The Promos for ToT say they'll "Take you to 13" and there's no basement, just floors 1-13 appear on the elevator thingy above the elevator, however in the actual attraction, the CM's still say there's a 13th floor but the elevator thingy reads B-12, no 13. Wondering if this was a mistake or something...

Thanks alot if you guys got answers.

To Answer Your Third Question, B-12 equals 13 floors. The Boiler Room Is Basement

So when the arrow is past the 12, is the elevator on the 14th floor?

Here are your correct answers as I know them:
1) You're thinking too hard.
2) You're thinking too hard.
3) You're thinking too hard.

There is no logic...in the Twilight Zone.

yeah, the attraction starts on two different levels with the elevators moving back and forth to allow each other to pass. Since the 1-12 indicator is the same on both floors, they really couldn't make it make sense. So, i'd have to agree with PMM, you're thinking WAY too hard buddy...

I hate it when I, myself, kill the Disney Magic by bringing a brain into the park.

For Shame =[

Post Triskaidekaphobia = irrational fear.

We all know that the basement doesn't count as a floor, because it's not above-ground. In the case of the Tower of Terror, they obviously let you "fall" into the basement, thus making it an "official" 13 floors.

They didn't want to put "13" on the dial because 90 percent of the population of the USA suffers from a mental condition called "magical thinking", and many of them believe that the number "13" is "unlucky". In fact, they actuall fear this number. This condition is called "Triskaidekaphobia".

It's an incredibly stupid fear that arises from nothing. Absolutely nothing. It's amazing how many companies that build huge skyscrapers skip the 13th floor. Even airplane manufacturers are so caught up in it that they'll skip the 13th ROW in their seating.

At least the fear of walking under ladders has a sound foundation... although "bad luck" has nothing to do with it. It's bad to walk under a deployed ladder because it is dangerous. Someone somewhere along the line decided that it was "bad luck" ("luck" doesn't exist) and magical thinkers went with it, lol.

The next time you see some silly person who is actually frightened by the number 13, all you have to say is, "Oh, you suffer from Triskaidekaphobia, you should get help".

So, there you have it. As to the other questions, I don't know.

PS- I think that you asked a perfectly legitimate question, and its answer actually contains a great explanation of a completely irrational and very deeply entrenched cultural phenomenon. If I were you, I would never apologize for bringing a brain anywhere. As long as it's a rational brain, lol... the magical-thinking kind of brain (in real life) is not good for anyone. And no, Walt's imagination was not "magical thinking" when it came to the parks, his movies, or his stories. That was all excellent storytelling with massive amounts of science, talent, art, engineering, mechanical invention and work behind it, which helped convey that story first on the screen, and then into our reality via the parks. And I think that's pretty darned smart, and wonderful.

Well, realistically, the Tower of Terror is 11 stories tall... if you are wondering about real world physical dimensions of the Tower, you enter on the first floor, and load on floors one or two. The attraction extends underground as well, the massive machinery of the elevator also makes up the top floor of the attraction.

According to the story/show, the Hollywood Tower Hotel is 12 stories tall, in addition to the Basement/Boiler Room. The two levels of the boiler room are both encompassed by the fictitious (just-for-show) dial's "B" indication. You are going to the rooms at or next to the Tip Top Club, located at the very top of the tower (Floor 12). Of course, lightning strikes the Hollywood Tower Hotel during your elevator ride (causing your elevator to hiccup past 12 to 13, of the Tower of Terror), your 'narrator-host' knows what is going to happen ("what happened... is about to unfold again... that door is opening once again, but this time, it's opening for you"). But at the end, you escape - or rather - get spit out by the Twilight Zone, and you get warned to watch out and make sure it doesn't happen again...

Disney used the "Tip Top Club" as a $1,595 package of the same name for the pre-opening Tower events April 22 and 23. Also available were a $465 Sunset Room Package, a $125 Stardust Room Package, and a $59 Gift Shop Package.

Every Hotel in Las Vegas skips the 13th floor.

and.. I thought that the elevator has 12 stories, that it drops you from, and the 1st story is on the ground.. and the 12th story is well 12 stories up.

that simple.

but I guess im wrong. :\
