Default Tower of Terror question..

One of my good friends, who I frequent Disneyland/California Adventure with, and I have always wondered this so I'm hoping that someone here can help us out. In the room in the Tower of Terror queue where you watch the video, the CM tells you to make sure that you are standing on the carpeted area of the room, and not on the hardwood floors. Is there any significance to this?

Thanks in advance.

There is no big deal about it. I think it is to make sure they do not let to many people into the foyer.

I've stood on both before. Standing on the carpet seems to let you feel the vibration of the thunder a little better. It also keeps everyone out of reach from touching the "artifacts"

I believe it is to allow the CMs the ability to cross behind you so they're standing at the open doorway between library & boiler room to announce that 'your rooms are now available'.

It is a Safety issue. The carpeted area of the room is the Guest standing area. The outermost ring, where guests are not supposed to stand, serves a similar purpose to a parades/fireworks tech access path.

Do NOT stand on the bare floor. DO NOT !!!!
The bare floor part opens up and anything on
it drops down to the abyss.
