It's one of my favorite rides at DCA!

ToT is my favorite ride in DCA. I really love the drops.

Fun Fact:

Did you know Knott's Berry Farm can be seen in the distance when you're at the top? For real! When you're at the top, look real hard in the distance, you will see Knott's. If you look hard enough, you will be able to make out Supreme Scream, Silver Bullet, Sky Cabin, Montezooma's Revenge, and Ghostrider.

Another fun fact: Just like above, DLR can be seen from the Sky Cabin at Knott's. Look hard enough & you will be able to make out ToT, Big Thunder, and the Matterhorn.

Hahaha. Yeah. I would hate it if my parents dragged me on a ride just because they wanted to go on it. My parents love rollercoasters so at an early age I learned not to trust their judgement.

I haven't really seen anyone screaming, but crying and asking really innocent questions, yes. "is it scary?" "is it fast?" "does it go down?(complete with falling hand gesture)" "how long is it?" "i have to go the bathroom"

Last time I was at DCA, my friend wasn't looking forward to ToT. But I assured her that if she can handle Splash, she could definitely handle this and probably have a lot of fun. Right before we got into the elevator, she gave me this death-glare, and goes, "I hate you." I just laughed. Turns out she didn't enjoy it, but somehow we got he to go two more times on it.

DCA's ToT is a pretty good ride, although you can't help the comparison with Orlando's original. However, if it is your first time there it will be a great experience because it makes anyother freefall and/or spaceshot rides look like old stuff, since there is a great detail on theming and atmosphere that suits for a very compelling attraction. And if you get some eerie CMs during the queue, that enhances the whole experience (especially on long waiting lines, so get Fastpasses as soon as you arrive, because in crowded days they may be sold out by 2 pm or even earlier!!!).

If you can handle Splash you can handle ToT?! Well, that's a blatant lie!!! I can handle Splash (just about - my stomach goes though) but it's nowhere near as bad as ToT.

I just don't like the fact that there's less to hold onto at DCA's than there is at WDW's.

Don't think I've ever seen anyone get off and say they wouldn't do it again though. It's that initial ride that does it for you. Then you're OK. It's good that your mate did go on it in the end though - three times despite not liking it. Good work!!

Always makes me laugh when I remember back to last Summer's vacation and we were queuing for ToT for the first time at Dl (first time to Dl so never rode DCA's version before) and these kids were by the side of us. They asked the people behind them (two women who claimed they had been on WDW's version before) if you stood or sat in the elevator and one of the women goes "Oh I can't remember!!" My mum's extremely talkative so when they [the kids] asked her what it was like she was telling them all. I think she may have put them off slightly 'coz she did tell it straight but they did go on it in the end and they all enjoyed it! I just couldn't believe the women who said they'd been on WDW's version but for some reasdon couldn't remember if you stood or sat. It's like "H-E-L-L-O, I think you WOULD remember that if you've been on it before!!!"

Quick Fact:
Tower of Terror is not a freefall, your elevator is actually being pulled down faster than gravity can pull it. So instead of just dropping like the Maliboomer you are getting thrusted downward. Pretty neat I thought..

I actually watched a video on http://www.towerofterror.org/ of the the opening ceremonies and that bellhop was there. He was presented with a special award from AAA. His speech was very funny. The reason I don't like rides like TOT is because I don't like drops and the reason I don't like drops is because I don't like the feeling that my stomach is going up

Unhappy I was sextremely nervous

I was actually very nervous the first time I rode TOT even though I had been on every ride at the other place so you'd think TOT would be old hat for me, but because you can't see what's going on, the fear of the unknown set in. My best friend told me that the lobby drops (what are friends for!) and then my ther friend Judi cooked up other stories. As you can see from this picture, I was petrified out of my gord. I'm the one in the front row, far right (YOUR right I was on my left)

I went on the Orlando ToT when it first opened in 1994, i was only 6. Even though it only had the one drop back then it was the most intence ride i'd ever been on.

Now after riding Orlando's ToT on 3 seperate years (1994, 1998 and 2003) and only 2 weeks ago riding DCA's i can still say it is my faveorite ALL TIME ride!

Can't wait to ride Paris'. If im not mistaken that has got the biggest budget out of all of them. $180 million i think. So maybe that one can beat Orlando's! hehe... :)

For those of you who have seen the pre-opening commercial for the DCA ToT, You may remember the evil bellhop's cold voice saying "I'll take you to 13." I also like it when he picks up the phone and says "Hollywood Tower Hotel." He says later, "You can't miss it."

ToT has got to be the best ride in DCA right now. Screamin is a close 2nd followed by Soarin and GRR. I usually ride each one, then I head back over to the DL.

I noticed on my latest expedition that the indicator on the elevator only has 12 floors! They should have put just one more so there would be a 13!
