Default So when does Aladdin leave? I love that show sooo much!

So does anyone know when Aladdin leaves the Hyperion Theater? I love that show, and it's the only reason I go to DCA. I will be very sad when it leaves. I think it's better than the Snow White show.
The thing is, when and if Aladdin leaves, what wil happen to the costumes, sets, and backgrounds? I mean, it's possible Disney MAY move the show to WDW, but I don't think they will (money....$$$$$).
Alan Menken said recently that he was working on a stage adaption of Hunchback of Notre Dame. Maybe this will replace Aladdin?!

I hope the show stays long enought to let me audition for it....if I ever find out how lol.

I hope it doesnt leave, that show is so good. I thought if they have a hunchback of Notre Dam show why wouldnt it be in the area where the old one was and they still have the colors from the show that I think left around 5 years ago and havent used the good piece of land for. Can you tell I think that they are wasting good space for nothing.

Ya. I mean, people see it as they pass it on the train and they probably are thinking "What the hec is that? Is that where they keep Eisner locked up?".

They really should have brought back that show (maybe for the 50th?).

I hope the Aladdin musical doesn't leave any time soon. I love to watch it! The jokes are cheesy, but I still laugh at them. The scene where the genies walk down those lighted stairs is my favorite part.

I haven't seen the Snow White musical, so I can't compare it.

I don't really remember much of the Hunchback stage show- other than it was really hot(I sat under the sun).

I dont think the show would leave anytime terribly soon. A lot of people consider it the best live show in whole resort.

But if they were to get rid of Aladdin, I wouldn't be too worried, as each new show there is better then the last. I remember not being too fond of Steps in Time, then I was blown away by Blast, and then I felt Aladdin was the best yet.

Personally, I love the show, especially the genie... but having a history with theatre, Im more in love with the theatre itself :P A lot of people dont realize just how state of the art the Hyperion is. The theatre itself if built to accomodate every broadway style show imaginable.

So if you ever see me inside the Hyperion, dont be too suprised if Im just staring at the lights and the catwalks above. I love the show... Im just more entertained by the theatre.

There is already a Hunchback musical in Berlin, written by Menken and Schwartz, Disney wants to make it into one of the Wonderful world of Disney things

I just was wondering because I don't want to go there one day and find out "Oh, it closed". I Wanna know ahead of time so I can possibly go on the last day of the show itself. It's kind of a thing that I wanna do lol.

Well Aladdin is a great show and all, but I think that it is time that another play goes in there. There are so many different cool shows that they could do with a stage like that. They have a fly system in there and moving sets etc. Why not do a play that they have never done in either park before? They could do a really cool Peter Pan show and have a pirate ship etc. The Idea of the theater seems like it is supposed to be like an LA musical theater... but in all of those theaters, all of the musicals/plays last for only a couple of months!! Don't get me wrong Aladdin is great, but since disney has the money... well... stop giving eisner bonuses, and do something productive with all of his money!!!

Aside from the great music and cool special theatre effects, Aladdin has a Genie that spouts pop culture every few seconds he's onstage. That is another draw the Aladdin show has that other stage shows probably won't have. So it might be difficult to top a show with romance, drama, plenty of humor, sfx, etc...

I didn't really have a point, I just wanted to point that out.

But it is dumb to just keep a show because of those things... why not try to top it off? there is nothing wrong with that

I'm not saying it should stay there forever. Like all things, it'll get old and eventually must be retired. It may be hard to top, is all I'm saying.

i love the aladdin show and i will be so sad if it leaves!

but if it did and something should replace it i wouldnt be surprised if it is a pixar movie maybe monsters inc would be the easiest to do.
because there is so many pixar things in DCA, like block part bash, the whole bugs land (but i love its tough to be a bug they should have stoped there) and now turtle talk with crush and all the incredibles characters running around, i love the pixar movies but not that much were DCA is over powered by it

thats why aladdin is special to some of the older guests because aladdin is a great show one of the BEST and i mean BEST of the disney shows, i would hate to see it gone! *go to room and cry*
