Remember that water is normally clear. What makes it dark is all sorts of minerals and debris like sand or junk kinda like in the Loch Ness Lake or near the coastline of California. But when you see the blue in the water (like around the Hawaiian Islands), that is actually the sky's reflection. Water is not blue by nature.
Right now the water in PP is clean and clear. But yes, they will be adding some sort of dye to help camouflage the platform and pipes, much like the RoA is.

If you look closely at shots from before it was filled, you'll notice a multitude of blue and black objects that look like plastic containers mounted on the underside of the stage. I forget what the difference between the colors is, but they are used as ballast tanks similar to how a submarine dives and resurfaces.

They haven't filled anymore. It is still the same. They are still connecting tubes, wires and other parts for the show on the platform and such.

If it is designed to float, it would be designed to sink thus hiding it from daytime viewing until the show. Anyways, wouldn't those lift mechanisms be able to push it to the surface and maintain a consistent level much like the Fantasmic! water screen lifts? Those too are lifted up and lowered down using hydraulics. Also, if they are to work on the platform for any reason, you would think it would be easier to fix or change out the parts on a solid platform as opposed to a buoyant platform that keeps shifting around when you make movements.

Most importantly, how do we know it is to be a floating platform and not lifted into place like Fantasmic!? Has Disney fully come out and stated anything about the design and function of the show elements and how it works?
Actually, from what Ive been told, the floats underneath do all the work, and the scissor lifts are really just there to "lock" the platform(s) into their three levels: submerged, show, and maintenance. As pvt_Church said, they are used as ballast tanks similar to how a submarine dives and resurfaces, and when they reach the desired height/depth, they can then lock it in place with the scissor lifts.

Also, from what I understand, the platform is actually three separate sections - not just one giant platform.

You also have to remember that the Fantasmic platform is miniscule compared to this thing.

In this picture in the link below, it appears as though they're testing the platform's flexibility, and you can see that sections of it have been raised above the submerged supports.

From what some eyewitnesses have told me, they DID add some dye the day they filled it up, but they will most assuredly add more when the lagoon is filled up completely.

If we didn't know any better, we wouldn't even know there was anything underneath the water. Amazing how they can hide a structure as big as a football field underneath the water like that.

^ It certainly is.
After reviewing the pics I could see some greenish hue to the water in many pics, I was going to just chalk that up as algae starting to form, but that wouldn't explain the filtration system at work pumping the water out in 2 different areas of the lagoon.
So to this I shall retract my statement that no dye was added just yet. LOL
Thanks for the info Reeder.

That actually makes a lot of sense. As mentioned in a couple of posts above me, scissor lifts used to "lock" the platforms in place seems like a very good idea. Thank you for explaining it to me.

I doubt that will happen. They're designing the show to be upgradeable and changeable whenever they need to do it. They can add, change, and remove segments of the show whenever they wish. I think it's incredibly cool that they can scale the whole show down a bit if the weather is not permitting for the full-scale show.

I get the info from press conference videos and demonstrations by Steven Davison. There's some very cool videos about on YouTube, you can just search "World of Color Steve Davison" and they'll come up.
