I heard several rumors that kind of made me mad. Could any of you shed some light?

A friend of mine told me that Disney decided to scrap the Walt Disney Plaza plan for the entrance. He also mentioned that Fisherman's Wharf was being taken out to create the entrance to Carland (which I actually don't mind very much). Also, he said that they were replacing the Golden Vine Winery with something called "Mater's Junkyard", which makes zero sense to me since it isn't even in Carland.

Anyone have any idea where he heard these, and whether or not they're true?

Thanks!

Remember the old game of Telephone? Well this is a prime example.

One person says "I like Walt Disney Plaza" and then next thing you know its "They are making Walt Disney Plaza into Walts Garage" then it turns to "Walt Disney Plaza is scraped"

This is how rumors get started and why they become rumors. If it was News then it can be quoted. At this moment in time nothing is completely certain.

I kinda think one main street at DLR is enough, why make DCA's entrance into another one?

I think the Golden Gate Bridge should have been towards Paradise Pier. Maybe even part of CA Screamin', despite what most people say and think I think it would be ok to "mix" lands in DCA in the way that the Pier shouldn't be based on a city or specific point on the map but a collective mix. And it is somewhat... except I see it being more a southern style than a northern. Maybe the Golden Gate would be better there to give it a mix of both north and south.

Just like I think Condor Flats needs to have more of a western theme to it instead of a desert eastern theme. And for those assuming... I am speaking about California's East and West sides not the standard "eastern" America or "western" America styles.

i totally agree with you. maybe what they could do is put it by Grizzly (you know were you walk around to noting) or even the bridge to the Pier.

However, having a mickey face on CA Screamin' AND the sun wheel would be a little odd, so they're taking the sun off the sun wheel, sticking a Paradise Pier logo (featuring a sun) on CA screamin' in place of the mickey head, and sticking a mickey head on the sun wheel. It seems a little pointless to me just to basically switch the two icons on the rides.

From what I recall when the renovation was announced, Mickey's Face was going to be put on the Ferris Wheel so that it can be used somehow in the Water Show. Since having a Mickey on BOTH the Ferris Wheel AND Ca. Screamin' would look odd.... yada yada yada....

I feel a little differently. Main Street is my favorite part of Disneyland Park, and the entrance to DCA never did much for me. I'm very happy that they're making a Main Street-esque style entrance.

Because it'll look 1,000,000,000,000,000x better than what's there now.

It will at least look different.
It's not like you will get confused after the refurb that you're actually in DL because both entrances looking the same...

I read somewhere that the Millionare building would become a temporary entrance when construction on the main entrance starts. I also read that the Seasons of the Vine building would become the showcase building for the new things being built at DCA.
There was video that i found on youtube about the expansion.

Something has just occurred to me:
If they are extending the entrance and retheming it to look like 1930's, what are they going to do about the monorail? It would be a futuristic spaceship-looking thing soaring above a new "Main Street" on a concrete beam! Will they reroute it? Or will there just be a huge thematic error at the entrance of the park?

Well let's see here. We have a large Alpine mountain in full view of Tomorrowland in one park. We have a Monsters Inc Laugh Floor next door to Stitch's Great Escape in another park. There's a Submarine Voyage next to said Alpine Mountain. The futuristic spaceship-looking thing soars above the entrance to Disneyland and its turn of the century train station. The list goes on...

It wouldn't be the first time themeatic continuity was considered something of a low priority.
