I see good and bad in the "renovation".
The theme of the park revolving around Pixar characters may be a good way to increase attendance. I actually like the entrance the way it is though. Disneyland already has Main Street and DCA doesn't need to build another one. By the way, does anyone know what attractions MAY be on the chopping block??

The article said that the Carthay Circle replica will be DCAs equivelent to Sleeping Beauty Castle. Does that mean Grizzly Peak wont be the park icon anymore? Lets hope the owners of the carthay Circle theatre are okay with having it be the park icon or they will hide it behind a giant Sorcerors Hat.

I don't mind changes but why take out Maliboomer I like it and so do many other people I see at DCA too, plus it fits with the whole pier theme. whats next takeing out another major attraction in DCA like California Screamin' so they can squeeze in another land that has nothing do do with California? like I said earlier I don't mind changes but not ones that will completely destroy a good park

Interesting Concept Art. (Thanks Ezra!)
I knew about Toy Story Mania (Who Didn't?), but the Light Up The Night Show should be breathtaking. I wonder if Cars is taking the area currently occupied by A Bugs Land?? (I hope It's Tough To Be A Bug doesn't disappear!!) Little Mermaid.....This one I don't get! I just don't feel the exitement of a Little Mermaid attraction for anyone who is not A) 14 and under, or B) A Girl! (Maybe it's just me though.)

First, I'm happy that despite the changes that are going to be made to DCA, my favorite rides like Soarin' over California, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, and California Screamin' are to remain unchanged.
However I feel weird about these changes being made. One thing is that if the concepts are done well, everyone's going to want to go to DCA and the lines are going to be massive! I mean, I know low attendance is bad...really bad, but I like how everytime I go to DCA, most of the time the lines at most of the rides are short. I'm going to have a hard time getting used to heavy crowds and waiting more than 30 minutes for California Screamin' and Mulholland Madness (I hope they don't take that ride out!). The Toy Story Mania ride and the Lagoon show look pretty cool. I'm glad that California Adventure is finally going to get some decent nighttime entertainment on par with Remember...Dreams Come True and Fantasmic! Carsland looks nice to, since I loved the movie, but..."Carsland." Surely, they can come up with something better than that! But then again, these are the same people who is going to remain the Disney-MGM Studios "Disney's Hollywood Studios." So...we'll see what happens. One thing that I think would be cool to do is make Soarin' a 3D attraction. Let me explain...the ride's system and film will remain unchanged...HOWEVER, the film would be cleaned up and there would now be 3D glasses (disguised as avaitor goggles) that would make the flight over California even more realistic! |

Yeah these are my views on this:
1)I honestly think the entrance to DCA doesn't need to be changed at all, Where's my "california girl" Music gonna play!? Is Sunshine Plaza going to change to Walt's California or whatever??? 2) The Little Mermaid?? Replacing good rides?? What the heck disney!? This should go in Disneyland, if anything at all! DCA was meant for thrills and stuff for teens and adults but I doubt you'll want to see princesses around DCA. But at least they're keeping it to 1 small kids ride. btw, isn't this like DCA's Pooh I guess you could say? 3) I agree that Cars Land could have been called something way more better, at least Route 66 like someone else said, to keep to the California theme. I hope that Cars Land isn't just based on that radiator springs scene, I hope there'll be some shopping or dining to do there, and I hope that concept art of Radiator Springs "Springs" up. 4) No real comment on TSM or Wonderful World of Color. They'll make good additions to DCA. Nice to have decent Midway game/attraction Disney & Pixar. In MY conclusion, There are alot of things about the upgrade I don't like, but we'll see what happens in the future. Btw, I don't really wanna go to DCA and see them working on that huge theatre that'll ruin my view of the entire park. In general, I don't like the theatre at all, and hope Grizzly Peak is still the park's Icon like Sleeping Beauty Castle is to Disneyland.

^DCA was not built for teenagers and thrills. If it was there would be a GRR, or soarin. It'd be all coasters, and screamin is going way to slow to be JUST for teenagers. Many kids that are young go on it. In fact while im in line most people are little kids.
Well its good to see this released. Everything looks good, Little Mermaid, World of Color, Toy Story madness, all that stuff. I like the idea for the entrance, it looks nice, and i know we have a mainstreet, but this is of Hollywood in the twenties. Main Street is the late 1800's to early 1900's But that picture looks a lot like MGM studios
