When this new expansion was released... and as more was released... nothing really came out about the MaliBoomer. I think anything could happen at this point. Nothing is absolutely true until it actually happens. My personal hope is that it gets a major re-theme similar to the Sun Wheel re-theme, and receives a little TLC maintenance wise(aka: running all towers) I could also do without the giant bells and the beginning-to-wither-away "score" backdrop that hangs on the tower. Other than that, the ride is a great little quick thrill and gives you a great view of the parks and, if you're on the right side, the backstage area.

But as PMM said, nothing much has really been officially "announced" about the Pier. Sure, it's getting a re-theme, but the model obviously is not an accurate representation of how it will end up turning out, and the only attractions we are sure of changing majorly are the Boardwalk Games and the Sun Wheel. Who knows what the fate of Screamin', Golden Zeypher, and that whole area in front of Mulholland are. I'm actually really curious to what will end up happening over there with Burger Invasion and Oom Mow Mow.

I love this ride too. But you can find this type of ride at many places. I would really like it if they put in a Parachute type ride because those are now REALLY rare.

its a ride where you sit in what looks like a parachute similar to jumpin jellyfish and pulls you to the top, then drops you but not really fast.

Hm, I guess I wouldn't have too much of a problem with it staying so long as they made it fit the theme.

I'm glad its staying for now, I was trying to imagine what they could possibly put in such a small area.

Glad the orange is going away! I love the swings but couldn't ride them semi-enclosed! Made me ill! The fam will be happy about the boomer! They love it and my sons have to ride it several times each afternoon we are there.

I don't think a parachute ride is even possible. I found a picture of the standard parachute ride off google

and if you notice the arms that hold the parachute itself stick out quite a bit. That means there has got to be room on the ground for all that. And becuase space is so limited it would take lots of construction, and very narrow sidewalks to get that to work.

If they had taken out the Maliboomer it would have been expensive and a waste of money and an un-use of space. Both of which Disney tries to never do!

Really? Have you checked the Peoplemover track lately? How about that Festival of Fools arena eh? Those old Skyway buildings are sure lookin' good too!

Maliboomer could still be on death row, and it just doesn't know it right now. In a 1920's Paradise Pier flanked by Mickey's Fun Wheel and Silly Symphony Swings, Maliboomer would sit not only themeatically out of place, but out of place with its neighbors as well. Games, Fun Wheel, Symphony Swings will all look as great examples of the new, and Maliboomer will just stay there as a depressing reminder of the old. It needs to go, even if a pretty fountain is all that ends up in its place.

^I don't know whether to agree, or disagree. Yes, it would absolutely look out of place with the rest of the area; however Disney always seems to find a way with themes... who knows, only the future will tell the fate of this long-overdue, refurbishment needed attraction.

It's very true that many areas in both Disneyland Park and DCA are there for almost nothing. Sorry but the Maliboomer, as PMM pointed out, has nothing to do with a Romantic Victorian sea-side boardwalk experience. Quite frankly, It's not the kind of ride that this new DCA should have.

I completely agree with both of you on this subject. The Maliboomer will look absolutely horendous juxtaposed against the other themes in the new Pier. However, you must also look at the feasible side of things. Does TDA really want to add more construction walls around the Pier and begin tearing down an entire attraction, that would take months upon months to complete (as putting in a new attraction or type of scenery in it's place). I would love to see the Maliboomer a part of Disney past, but I don't believe Disney is ready to let it go quite yet.
