Smile Kali River Rapids Vs. Grizzly River Run

Both amazing river rapids rides are innovative in there own little way.

GGR - Tallest, Fastest, Longest, Spinniest rapids ride in the WORLD!

KRR - Has a half decent story to it making it one of the only river rapids rides to have a story with the ride.

Which do you like more?

I like GRR better because it's longer and feels more fun. Kali is over in like 2 minutes or something but it does have nice theming.

GRR is way better its more intense and it does have a story, but it took me five times on KRR to figure out the story.

Okay, my beef with Kali River Rapids is that I got COMPLETELY soaked to the bone on my one and only trip, and being in Florida, I did not dry at all the rest of the day because of the humidity. I was inexplainably (is that even a word?) uncomfortable. I hated the fact that I was soaked. That is why I like GRR so much- you get wet, but never soaked.

I haven't been on Kali yet. I saw it at DAK, but none of us felt like getting wet. I have seen a video of it and I like the idea of taking a raft ride through the jungle. But I also like the theming and the spinning drop on GRR. I won't vote though, because I can't really fairly judge.

Meh, I don't think either one are especially special. Rapids rides are rapids rides. Lather, rinse, repeat.

^ Yeah, rapids rides in general don't do all that much for me. Been on GRR a total of 1 time in all my visits to DCA.

Oh please^ Thats just like saying the (former) Sleeping Bueaty walkthrough doest matter because its not a ride. Its about the simbolism. GRR is the themed attraction to DCA while the SBC walkthrough was the attraction at DL.

^ I'd have to disagree with that. While Grizzly Peak may have been intended to be an icon of the park, you could make that argument for Tower or Screamin'. No rapids ride can hold a candle to them, especially with the multitudes of rapids rides in existence. Rapids rides are a common denominator of theme parks. Disney can work their themeing magic, but they can't change that fact.

I guess I don't understand the connection between the icon and the attraction attached to it. I like Grizzly Peak itself, but I don't think it makes GRR anymore special. The theming is nice, but it isn't exactly head over heals better than the rapids rides at most other theme parks, unlike what Splash Mountain is in the log ride world. I don't have much of an attachment to the SBC walkthrough either, since I had only been in it once before it closed.

Im really not a fan of GRR.

There's not that WOOSH factor. It's more smooth, drop, smooth, drop, waterfall, drop. I mean...eh.

I'd much rather be bumped around alot rather then drop so much. I really don't like the drops at all. xD

Kali is a great ride, but they made a lot of improvements with Grizzly. It's a lot of fun and one of the best themed rides at the Resort.
