My thoughts exactly but Happy Birthday, DCA. I'm waiting on when it hits 10 years and a few of the new attractions will be open.

To me, the fact people still mourn the parking lot's death 8 years later speaks volumes about DCA's original planning, purpose, and laughably horrendous execution.

Before you say those problems are now being fixed, be warned. Mickey's Fun Wheel's covered queue/walkway has already received the axe. Depending on how the future goes, more cuts could be coming. DCA could be left with World of Color and a very basic Little Mermaid attraction and that's it! Yeah, you heard me. Looking forward to Cars Land? Might not happen at all! The rumors blow in the wind as they do. Stay tuned.

^Yeah, but that is not Disney's fault. That's called the rising costs of everything and an American economy in the pits.

DCA's original flaws are very much Disney's fault.

As for the current state of the economy, first of all, costs rise all of the time. Inflation is a inevitable, and the fact that very little inflation has happened in the past 8-10 years is quite a remarkable event in monetary history. Secondly, pay little attention to the Chicken Littles you see on TV wearing suits standing behind Seals these days. This is a problem, yes, but the people who were alive in the 1970s & early 80s should be able to tell you similar stories of an economy in trouble. Except then it was worse in terms of unemployment.

What Disney is well aware of is the cyclical nature of the economy. There are high times of periods of strong growth, and times of correction. We are in currently in the latter now, but cyclical nature tells us that it will not last very much longer, unless government gets in the way, of course, and alters the senario. Disney's postioned itself to ride the rough waters now and then deal with the future. Depending on what happens, that could have ramifications whose possbilities are all across the board vis a vis DCA. Disney has game plans in place currently to deal with whatever comes.

The economy right now is not Disney's fault, I think is what was trying to be said.
If your scenario becomes reality where only Paradise Pier gets the face lift, well at least we get a shiny new Paradise Pier. I highly doubt it will stop there, though. Cars Land is among one of the final projects for DCA, so we'll see how that goes. If at least they could bring out much of the changes (Like a new entrance and hub, updated Hollywood Pictures Backlot, etc.), maybe it wont be so bad in the end; and instead, we'll have a better DCA than it is now. I'm sure any of the proposed changes at this point will make it better.
