Default The Electrical Parade

August 28 is the last day that Disneyland.com has for Disney's Electrical Parade as part of the entertainment for California Adventure. I'm kind of sad I'm going to miss is when I go in December. Do you think that they might keep it running a bit longer while California Screamin' is in rehab?

This is what was posted on Mouseplanet:

"The Electrical Parade is on a 9 month hiatus."

Sounds to me like it will be down from September through may and back by Summer 2006. Chin up--it's coming back =)

I hope it comes back with the Pinnochio float again. I heard it burned up, but it would be so cool if they made another one. That was my favorite float.

I got to watch it last night! Yay! But anyway, I don't know if this is known already or not amongst all us VFers, but my boyfriend and I overheard a CM talking about how the Electrical Parade was sold to the newest Disney park in Hong Kong. We then asked her and she confirmed, it will be gone, and the way she made it sound, no one knows when, or if, it'll come back. I know what you're thinking, 'cause its what I was thinking... "WHHHHAAAAAAAT?!?"

Disneyland Paris' electrical parade is apparently going to Hong Kong as they now have had Fantillusion. Ours is going into refurb reportedly.

Hmmm... well, apparently everyone is confused. The CM told us ours was going to Hong Kong, so I have no idea whats happening to it.

I think disney knows there will be an uproar if the electrical parade is taken away again. People are way too invested in it and that's why it was brought back in the first place, cause it is loved SO much (and it made a nice addition to DCA). If they dared take it away permanently when they claimed it was only going on hiatus, people would freak! If they ever did really take it away, I'm sure they would make it a big going away thing like when it left main street.

Why is it going away on hiatus again? Is it for a major refurb of the floats or what?

^ I hope its for a refurb of the floats. They're in a great need of some TLC. The only problem is, there isn't anything in DCA that entices guests to stick around until closing. What's preventing everyone from abandoning DCA to park-hop back for the 7pm PoD now? I guess it matters not if DCA closes at 6pm on weekdays, but what about the weekends? What about the weekends?!?!!?!!

Ohhh, Yeah!! Do you think once they start opening new rides and such that they will change their hours? It all does depend on attendance of course, but that should change when they add more.

Well if the park ever draws more than 14,000 they should expand hours. That's going into the theoretical senario when Disneyland & DCA were 2 seperate legit theme parks, each worthy of an entire day's attendance. Without the Electrical Parade & Screamin' I'm betting my local swap meet draws more daily attendance on a Wednesday than DCA will.
