Default Dont mean to dis disney, but.....

I love disneyland. I love disney period, But they could have done SOOOOOOOO much better with california adventure. I dont think it should have been california adventure, it shoud have been an extension to disneyland, or a walt disney memorial park with rides of his life and famous quotes. At least make it have that disney feeling. I also miss the parking lot. I remember being a little kid and looking at the puumba and timon parking signs, that added 2 the feeling. Anybody else feel the same way?

Well, I do like DCA, because it reflects on California's culture (but someone not from CA might not have the same experience). I guess that it is special to people who live in CA, but I do like DL better because it has unique rides while DCA has tradional carnival rides (not all though). I wouldn't get rid of it though.

I just don't like DCA becaue its small.
But it would of really been a good idea to have it be an extension to DL.

I like it, because its not disneyland.

I know that sounds cynical, and i dont want anyone thinking i dont like disneyland, i love the place...

...but sometimes its just nice to have a change of pace. where disneyland is all memory and nostalgia, dca is new and bright. its small, but itll grow. and eventually itll have certain memories and nostalgia attached to it. but for now, its nice to have some different scenery.

Exclamation hmm...

Hmm, this is a toughy...

I guess I like DCA for it's Disney-Themed Rides (Monster's Inc., It's Tough to be a Bug, etc.), (also, I like Tower Of Terror), but everything else just isn't unique enough for me. I've been to Six Flags (More like Six hours of no theming Flags), and Knott's Berry Farm (More like Not So Merry Farm), and I'm just sick of the lack of theming. I need MORE!

People tend to forget that Dl is 45 years older than DCA. You cannot compare DCA to Dl in anyway. Doing so is VERY unfair because in most peoples eyes it will never compare to Dl. I'm not saying you were comparing it to Dl but remember what Dl was like back in 1955?! DCA is five years old. It's a baby. Give it time to grow. It's already amazing and a highly enjoyable place to spend time in my opinion though!!!

I like DCA as well. I don't know if it's because I'm from CA, or not. I love the theming of the different areas. It's a very unique and nice(and clean) theme park. Granted there are only a few choice rides that I would do more than once, but that's just me. There is always room to change and as long as there's money to be made...

bluntly put.

but i dont think DCA is a disgrace to the name. Its got imagination in it, it has tremendous theming in most of its areas, and with each new attraction it gets just a little better. give it some time!

just remember that DCA is not supposed be like DL or and extension of DL. It is it's own park. It is still a baby as theme parks go. It will take a little time (3-5 years in my esitmation) to grow and evolve. The DCA that so many people hate now MIGHT become the DCA that some many people will love later. I admit that there was a lot of poor planning and bad choices made there, but give them time to correct the mistakes and make the park grow. With any luck in a few years new rides will be put in place and the themeing will be adjusted. DCA will be better in the not so distant future (I hope).

You have to remember DCA is still in it's baby stages compared to the rest of the parks out there. None are fabulous right off the bat. Not even disney. I am sure over time more things will be added and it till get only better with time.

i dont remeber much when i was a kid in terms of the parking lot, but i remebr how i excited i was when i saw the entrance so close. Now, you park so far away that you have to take a tram. The old way was better and i personally dont like california adventure or downtown disney. Universal Citywalk is way better than downtown disney.

I get the theme idea, but it's weak. OK, it's new. But it needs magic. They got Grizzly Mtn right and Soar'in is excellent. The tortilla factory and that whole area - weak. I know the concept, but they lost me as a "Disney" park. And how many time have you seen some of the carnival area rides at the county fairs. Just smaller. I still enjoy DCA, but spend about 2/3 of my time at Disneyland and 1/3 at DCA. That may be a good idicator. How much time do you spend at each park?

With the inclusion of Announced rides:

Monsters INC. Mike and Sullly To the Rescue

and Rides that are still just rumors:

Cars Themed Test Track
Icredibles Robo Coaster

California Adventure will Grow and Evolve. Some Day we will look at DCA
with fond memories and remember what it used to be.It has already came very far for an only 5 year old park. The E-tickets will come, just not all at once.once Disney starts heading in a less strictly california direction, more Rides and Attractions will come.Look at how long WDW parks took to get some of their best rides, a lot more than 5 years. Some day the magic will be at DCA in full force, but it will Take time.

DCA is a nice escape from DL. It's completely different yet somewhat the same.
(huh????)

at DCA you get the more modern park, with the same disney feel. Kinda like what walt might have built 45 years after DL. We can't know for sure if he would have, but he could have!!!

(my philosophy lesson is now over, class dismissed)
