I, as an Southern California Orange County resident, believe that this park does not portray California at all. My opinion is that the park is horrible and they should name it "Disney's California...The Way We Want It to Be" or just "Disney's California" because it shows only Disney's view of California.

I think more than anything else... DCA shows the percieved California Lifestyle. Laid back, casual, relaxing and reflective.

For the intended purposes of the park, the potrayals are nicely done.

"Experience the fun & adventures of California Disney-style!" That was the tagline & I don't think I could describe it any better.

Having been everywhere in California, I assure you that it reflects California accurately. Now when it comes to how equally everything is portrayed *cough cough* San Francisco Section *cough*, there's the issue. Plus, how does Flik's Fun Fair relate to California.......?

I think that DCA portray's California pretty well. It shows some history, lifestyle, the different regions, and things that california are known for! All together, I think it was made with a lot of thought, and heart!

Because it was going to just be Bountiful Valley Farms reflecting CA's huge farming industry, but when they realized nobody cared, they brought in something movie-based.

yea... originally it was just the Bountiful Valley Farm and Tough to be a Bug. And together they represented the farming industry of California (which is in fact quite large, and rather interesting in its own right).

When the criticism that DCA didnt offer much for little kids arose, they opened up the fun fair.

But we all already knew that much.

I personally dont mind the addition of the Fun Fair, but I dont think they should have made it the full focus of the area. You'll note its now a bug's land featuring Bountiful Valley Farm. I think they should have it the other way around. It would have helped keep the theming closer to the point of the park.

LOL "Gangland." Y'know that park about 60 miles north of Disneyland? There's your gangland!

Being born in California, and having a long family tradition and heritage there, I think that the park really reflects California well. It reflects everything that California was and what it is supposed to be. I dont think its necessary to reflect how certain groups have screwed up parts of California.
