[quote=disneylover]I don't think it is really fair to compare DCA to DL. I enjoy both, but I am especially partial to DL because I grew up with it. I always have a great time at DCA. I think an important thing to remember is that DCA is only 4.5 years old. It is still quite young, and they are adding attractions at a pretty good rate IMHO. Remember, that DL was at one point a young park too. DL has 45 years on DCA.

I totally agree with disneylover! Isn't what makes DLR so magical is the history and your memories ? DCA has barely anytime to develop any of those!
DCA is a different experience..just like what I assume Walt Disney had in mind when he dreamed Disneyland. Disneyland wasn't ever planned to be similiar to anything else in existence.

I think DCA helps siphon people off from Disneyland Park making DLP less crowded so even if you stay in DLP all day you get that side effect. It's sort of like doubling the lanes on a freeway. What I wouldn't like about DCA if I drove there (I take Amtrak when I go) is that the new parking lot is so far away, now.

I don't feel DCA has the same magic as Disneyland. While DCA has some great attractions and as a park, it's very nice, it just doesn't have the same feel as Disneyland. The Disney elements feel slapped on rather than integrated. It's as if it could have been Anybody's California Adventure if you just take out all the Pixar stuff, which is fine if that was the intent - a park about California, merely presented by Disney. But like others have said, it's still young. Hopefully it will mature into something great. :)

I think Eisner should apologize for the cheesy way he (and his people, of course) approached DCA. First, I think the theme was a mistake (California in California - make it USA and give Californians something else to enjoy like Niagara Falls, The Florida Everglades, Zion or Yellowstone). More importantly, he cheaped out in a lot of areas and the park is not of Disney quality. Except for the bridge, walking into DCA is like walking through a strip mall.

But the imagination is there and with the commitment of some funds and energy (which, I understand, are coming) it could present itself better and win some more Disney fan support.

Yes is my vote. (However not yet to be compared to Disneyland)

I think Disneyland will always have more magic just because Walt Disney was there during its begining. However I think DCA has quality that for it's short time in opperation is enjoyable. I hope to see more added to the overall theme/s. What I love about Disneyland is the way it helps to bring that imagination to each of it's "Lands" they each captivate the viewer. The show man that Walt Disney was brillaintly designed Disneyland like a play with many sets that help to keep the audiance involved in the story.

DCA has Disney magic it's just different. Which is a good thing. What would be the point of having multiple parks of they are all like the Magic Kingdoms? Personally, I like variety. DCA is very different from DL, but still has Disney magic.

I thought DCA sucked when I went in 2003, but since that, it has improved. I always want to go back because I really like the Tower of Terror.

By the way, I was voter #100!

In some ways yes and some ways no because there is not as much fantasy as disneyland disneyland is made by imagination DCA not so much because it mostly has to do with California if I wanted to learn about Cal. I would go on a road trip the only part with imagination is the Hollywood pic. backlot because it has to do with movies and tot is pure imagination because of that I think tot sould be in Disneyland where imagination lives where life makes it come alive.

I say yes because it is not much like any other theme park it also has magic that is hard to explain that is the Disney magic I think.

Honestly, the park opened 5 years ago, can't you let it die?

^ So people can only have positive opinions of the park now? They are just responding to the question.

Umm, where did I happen to say that in my post? Until I do say it please don't go around assuming things.

Eisner is gone, grow up and look to the future, stop criticizing the history because it will never change.
