Well DCA has certainly improved since opening day years ago, which people said was dull compared to DLR. Well they've been improving. Tower of Terror is now probably one of the best attractions in either park. I'm sure for some of you, you can agree to go to DCA just for that ride alone.
Most recent, Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! opened up. It's probably not the best attraction Disney have came up with, but it's got the "magic" for those who seek that.
Don't say it stops there, I'm sure Disney can improve the park better than ever, it takes patience. It's still a young park, and it has plenty of opportunity in the future.

I usually go to DCA a few minutes before they close just to ride ToT, then I go over to Disneyland. One time I even made a special trip to DCA just to ride ToT. I definately agree that DCA will continue to improve over the years, I just hope that they'll put a nice show into the lagoon sometime soon because otherwise it seems like a big waste of space.

Agreed. I also have noticed the vast areas of completely wasted space. When I think of WDW and how it has so much room to expand and how DL has to close old attractions to fit new ones or put in crappy attractions due to limited space... it is very upsetting to see wasted space of any kind, be it completely vacant or filled by a dumb attraction. We usually visit DCA to do the must see's. that takes a few hours, then we park hop back over to DL. we can do the same stuff day after day and it is wonderful every time. that is because of the magic. i cant say the same for all of the stuff at DCA. I mean, we never even go west of Grizzly River Rapids. We hit hollywood studios backlot, do everything there... we go to a bugs land for the ittbab 3d show.. we go on screamin and then we go on soarin and we're done. Mostly because it seems that we can feel the other park just calling out to us... we feel like we are wasting time. that is.. there is so very little to make us want to stay when we know that there is something far better just a quick walk away.

During my last trip for the VF Hunt. We were there a total of 2 1/2 days and did not once go over to DCA. We actaully laughed and said we didn't even think to go over. I do like TOT, Soarin and Screamin. That is about it!

Well, I do not miss the parking lot, lol.

I think they should put a tunnel underneath the esplanade between the 2 parks, have one entrance and just call the whole thing Disneyland again.
I have never liked the name California Adventure (Is that not just driving around there?)

Now as to whether I think it is a Disney park in itself, I do! Animal Kingdom started small and we usually spend only a half day there(same in DCA), but I get that "Disney" feeling there as well as I do in DCA. Both will grow with time.

I my humble opinion...NNNNOOOO!!!

I can't imagine Main Street USA being in the middle of Disneyland.

I must completey disagree. slapping a brand name on something plays on peoples trust. disney is a name we trust. I think that lately they have hoped that the name and the reputation would pull them through tough times instead of using a superior product to do it. look at disney animation for one. the philosophy is... i can poo out sequel after sequel and rely on the name to get people to buy. this instead of pouring more time and money into a legitimate feature like the lion king or beauty and the beast. just because something has the disney name does not make it disney magic. crap labeled disney at the end of the day is still crap. they usually get the job done, but some of the time they do not. many parts of DCA constitute a part of this "some of the time".

DCA is just different, it is not the original. DL is tough to compete with, but that doesn't mean DCA is not magical, it is in its own way.

but the question is not if it has A magic... or Its Own magic. it asks if it maintains the integrity of the Disney magic of the Disney park. in order to judge this, the original park must come into play as a factor in deciding the answer. in so doing, i have weighed it, measured it in the balances... and found it wanting.

DCA has Disney magic. DL is a factor, but you need to keep in mind what each park is about. Walt Disney had no part in DCA, but did in DL, this is factor you must keep in mind as well. You need to consider all, if you do, a lot of the magic that makes Disney magic is in the person and the place and how that intereacts. DCA is not DL, but it is a Disney park... But everyone will have their own opinion, and that is fine...

I think DCA would be more than it is if Imagineering could have done it the right way...with Eisner.
