I wish they hadn't removed the Pinocchio float. It was very well done and Pinocchio deserved to be in the parade.

Didn't the Pinocchio float burn to the ground? Doesn't make its prospects for an '07 return very good.

The details get really confusing and even if I heard a correct explanation at one time I've forgotten it with any certainty.... We had pinocchio floats and WDW had pinocchio floats. One set got sent to paris, i think wdw's. I think ours was sent to Japan and somewhere along the line it was damaged or taken apart.

I think our seven dwarves' mine might be the one that burned down.

When the parade went down on its hiatus, a lot of people myself included were hoping they'd rebuild both sets of floats.. I mean the dwarves' mine was a small wooden structure with lights and decorations, big deal. Shouldn't be that hard to rebuild. But alas nothing came of it.

Just to tell you, Pinnochio's float and the Dwarves' Mine were sent to Disneyland Paris for their second run in 1998. Swan Lake from Tokyo Disneyland also went to Paris. They built new Swans for Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade DreamLights. All I know about Pete's Dragon extended is that it had music at one point. It's A Small World was sent to Tokyo Disneyland at the end of 1983 and dissapeared after its last run. That was the same with Walt Disney World's It's A Small World. After their first parade ended (two units short of Disneyland's finale season parade) all of the floats were sent to Paris EXCEPT To Honor America, which was taken apart. Then in Disneyland Paris, the whole parade lasted until 2003, except for It's A Small World. That dissapeared after the first year. I have a film of that unit in Disneyland Paris. Briny Deep was there since year 1977 in both parks, turned into Pinnochio Underwater in WDW 1980, dissapeared from Disneyland same year. Walt Disney World's was supposedly burned up along with Return to Oz floats in a So Hot Summer day. Too many mirrors, eh? Why they can't bring back THAT float is because nobody has any idea what Return to Oz is. The kids don't even remember The Wizard of Oz.

Alright!

Thanks for clearing that up. I knew some of the floats had burned up, but I was pretty sure it wasn't Pinocchio.

Check out my topic "A History of the Main Street Electrical Parade" It isn't quite just a few things you might want to know, it's a lot!

My vote is for Pleasure Island all the way, but I'm still not clear on something. Which Pinnochio float burned up? Pleasure Island or under water? I would also like to see the It's a Small World float, but I truly don't think that it belongs in DCA.

I remember the Pleasure Island float when I was just a little one. It was probably about 10 years ago the last I saw of it. But it's gone now so no hope in that. I wasn't alive for the It's A Small World float so that would be intresting to see.
