Chinese Restaurant by Mission Tortilla

ok, ever since the first time my hubby and I went to DL together (which has got to be nearing about 30 now) he has gone past that Chinese place to see if they have opened it. Does anyone know WHY they never opened it, and WHY they have never used the space for something else? Seems like such a waste....

I believe it was opened back in 2001 when California Adventure first opened, but didn't last long. DCA was way too restaurant-heavy back then and it seems like they closed restaurants left and right for a while. Perhaps someone else on here will be able to shed more light on this for you.

If you're talking about the Lucky Fortune Cookery, its big electronic sign was on the other night, so I can only imagine it is open at some point during the day. Never walked up to it though, so can't tell you much more than that.

I think the sign lights up at night no matter what. They might all be linked :) We walk up to the window every trip "just in case". They used to put forks and napkins over there...now it's just empty. I wonder what kinds of new stuff they will put in with the redesign....

That wall backs up to backstage/Timon lot if I'm not mistaken. It might be just knocked down entirely for CarsLand space.

I believe the Lucky Fortune Cookery is only used now for the Food and Wine Festival to sell the featured dishes.

I dated a girl who was a CM at DCA. She used to work at the restaraunt. She told me it was never busy and just didn't last long. They just still haven't taken down the sign. So, yes it was open, no I don't think it will be open again. I think it was last used in 2002.
