i think BTMRR was closed for a few months. Screamin is going to be closed for a while because its faster and more things could go wrong. I bet the state dept. thinks that if one thing went wrong more things could go wrong and if two cars crashed again at a higer speed it could be fatel i heard ( i think from daddyb) that it was a hardware error so the only thing they might be doing is fixing it (which can take a long time)

Could be better news - like if they re-opened it on September 19 - but at least it's news and we have an update on it now. And I would rather it be closed for longer and feel safer so... And it won't effect me until next July anyways!!

Is there any possibility at all that it will be opened on October 9th?

The fatal accident on the BTMRR occurred on September 5th, 2003 and the attraction re-opened on March 15th, 2004. I know exactly when it re-opened because my wife and I were at the park on the 15th and were among the first group to ride that day...

No, he didn't survive - that's why he looks like one of those cursed pirates now. :)

Well, I for one dont mind the wait... as long as they use the time to also do some other projects to the ride.

Perhaps some new paint in the queue would be nice. Also, those blank walls you see at the end of the ride could use some color of some sort. Maybe a few nostalgic posters would be nice.

I have a hunch when it re-opens it will have a renewed feel to it, and infact more disney-ish.

I don't know the exact status of the ride right now, but it was running on Monday (October 3rd). Just a little heads up to people who like the ride.

Roll call on Monday made it seem as if Screamin' will open on Friday. Doubt it, but possibly.
