Default California Screamin' & heart conditions

My younger sister has just gotten through a recent heart surgery on Friday March 30, 2007. I was wondering...her favorite rides are IJA and California Screamin'. When do you think she will be ready to ride those attractions again? Because I hate riding California Screamin by myself!

For a technical medical question like that, she (or you or your parents or whoever) should ask her doctor, since he/she probably best knows how much her heart can tolerate.

Hope your sister has a full recovery!

There are warnings on both rides warning NOT to ride if you have any sort of a heart condition so you'll definitely need to check with your doctor before riding. Hope she has a full recovery!!!

Ditto both of the above -- CHECK WITH HER DOCTOR BEFORE TRYING EITHER!!! Once she's been given medical clearance, HAVE FUN!!!

There is a reason that doctors have gone to so many years of training and schooling, so please I beg of you, ASK YOUR DOCTOR, and follow that advice!!!! My prayers on her recovery, and most of all, cherish your time together, and enjoy every moment of it!!!!

Thanks for the tip! I'll be sure to ask her doctor the next chance I get. But what about Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Soarin', and Gadget's Go Coaster. I mean, surely those rides (except Space Mountain) are tame enough for her.

Well, maybe Soarin', but honestly, asking a Doctor for any ride in general is the best thing to do. You don't want to put your sister at risk of possible harm, ya know.

And I also sincerely hope she makes full recovery soon.

In my mind, it's not worth taking the risk to ride anything with a pre-existing condition such as a heart condition. Especially in a place like Disneyland when there are still so many great experiences that aren't a danger to someone with a heart condition.

Personally, if it were me, I wouldn't go on anything with height requirements or queue warnings this summer at all, even if I think they're "tame". No way would I take the chance.

It all depends on what kind of type of condition and even what the Doc. says, if he says its ok they well go have fun but if you believe it isn't safe then just do something else.

Warnings say that if you have had recent surgery, that you SHOULD NOT ride. I hope your sister has a great recovery! Just because you can't ride the big rides like SM, ToT, IJA, etc., doesn't mean that you will not have a good time there. Just being there is sometimes enough. Hope this helps!
